What is the port number of the RJ12 connection on a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop

You can find the port number by going into the control panel. Find the device manager and look at the list of ports. Your network adaptor may not be using a port, just memory to access it, in which case under the network device it will have a resource tab showing the memory location.

Zlob virus

I found this on the net, i hope this helps you out. It also says that this nasty virus is a tough one...and you still run the risk of ruining your info on the hard drive. Back-up critical info (Docs,Music, Game info etc)
And keep me posted on the results..i hope this helps you out! GOOD LUCK! 8-)

Step 1 : Use Windows File Search Tool to Find Zlob Path
  1. Go to Start > Search > All Files or Folders.
  2. In the "All or part of the the file name" section, type in "Zlob" file name(s).
  3. To get better results, select "Look in: Local Hard Drives" or "Look in: My Computer" and then click "Search" button.
  4. When Windows finishes your search, hover over the "In Folder" of "Zlob", highlight the file and copy/paste the path into the address bar. Save the file's path on your clipboard because you'll need the file path to delete Zlob in the following manual removal steps.

Step 2 : Use Windows Task Manager to Remove Zlob Processes
  1. To open the Windows Task Manager, use the combination of CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
  2. Click on the "Image Name" button to search for "Zlob" process by name.
  3. Select the "Zlob" process and click on the "End Process" button to kill it.
  4. Remove the "Zlob" processes files:
  5. msmsgs.exe nvctrl.exe msmsgs.exe nvctrl.exe
Read more about How to kill Zlob Processes

Step 3 : Use Registry Editor to Remove Zlob Registry Values
  1. To open the Registry Editor, go to Start > Run > type regedit and then press the "OK" button.
  2. Locate and delete the entry or entries whose data value (in the rightmost column) is the spyware file(s) detected earlier.
  3. To delete "Zlob" value, right-click on it and select the "Delete" option.
  4. Locate and delete "Zlob" registry entries:
  5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinlogonShell=explorer.exe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SoftwareMicrosoftWindows NT CurrentVersionWinlogonShell=explorer.exe, msmsgs.exeHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunRegSvr32=%System%msmsgs.exe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SoftwareMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionRunRegSvr32=%System%msmsgs.exe
Read more about How to Remove Zlob Registry Entries

Step 4 : Use Windows Command Prompt to Unregister Zlob DLL Files
  1. To open the Windows Command Prompt, go to Start > Run > type cmd and then click the "OK" button.
  2. Type "cd" in order to change the current directory, press the "space" button, enter the full path to where you believe the Zlob DLL file is located and press the "Enter" button on your keyboard. If you don't know where Zlob DLL file is located, use the "dir" command to display the directory's contents.
  3. To unregister "Zlob" DLL file, type in the exact directory path + "regsvr32 /u" + [DLL_NAME] (for example, :C\Spyware-folder\> regsvr32 /u Zlob.dll) and press the "Enter" button. A message will pop up that says you successfully unregistered the file.
  4. Search and unregister "Zlob" DLL files:
  5. uimcu.dll antzozc.dll dtjby.dll

Step 5 : Detect and Delete Other Zlob Files
  1. To open the Windows Command Prompt, go to Start > Run > type cmd and then press the "OK" button.
  2. Type in "dir /A name_of_the_folder" (for example, C:\Spyware-folder), which will display the folder's content even the hidden files.
  3. To change directory, type in "cd name_of_the_folder".
  4. Once you have the file you're looking for type in "del name_of_the_file".
  5. To delete a file in folder, type in "del name_of_the_file".

  7. Select the "Zlob" process and click on the "End Process" button to kill it.

Toshiba Satellite L300 shuts down when ac power plugged in

How about this step, try to turn off the laptop itself. Remove the cables and battery just like what you did before, then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then, reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop and then turn on the computer itself. If the laptop restarts, shuts down or freezes with the AC power cables, two things that you should seriously consider. It might be the power cable itself, AC cable port or the circuitry going to the motherboard. And since you have cleaned out the fan and heat sink, you have isolated that problem. Have you plug-in another power cable on your laptop? If yes, then check if it works. Otherwise, the main issue is that the AC port is loose or the circuitry of AC adapter going to the motherboard is not not working. You can re-open the unit and check the circuitry from the AC port going to the motherboard. You may check the circuitry from AC port to the power supply if it is ok. If symptom persist, please contact your local dealer...

No display

You need to do some troubleshooting here to figure out what the problem is exactly. 1. On all Laptops there is a Fn key and one of the Function Keys at the top row that has a picture of monitors on them. Hold down the Fn Key then hit this monitor function key at the top, usually it's anywhere between I'd say F8 and F11 in most cases. Hit it one time, and wait to see if the monitor lights up. If it does not hit it again. You will want to do this at least 3-5 times and wait for about a good 10-15 seconds between each time. 2. If that does not work, then try hooking up an external monitor to the laptop through the Blue VGA connector on the back of the laptop. (Sometimes these connectors are on the side of the laptop) You can hook up any external monitor to this port assuming you have the right cable. Some laptops come with a White connector that looks different than the blue connector in that it does not have pins. This is called a DVI connector. Most newer LCD's are now converting to DVI connectors, but all LCD monitors can use the blue VGA connector cables. Note: You may have to use the Fn + FKey again to get an image on the external monitor. IF you do get a picture on the external monitor and the laptop appears to operate normally otherwise, then chances are your LCD is dead and is in need of replacement. Fix 1: Inverter is bad or died - Depending on LCD this can range in price from I'd say $40-$150 to purchase if you are tech savvy you can fix this yourself. Fix 2: Backlight has died or is bad - Depending on where you shop for it, this part is usually fairly cheap, and if you are savvy enough can be replaced at reasonably low cost. Fix 3: You are not tech savvy: Take your laptop into a local PC shop, and have them check it out for a bad inverter, backlight, or to confirm rather or not the LCD is dead. Note: LCD replacements can run upwards of $300 or more. I've seen them go as high as $500. Hope this information helps.
