This means that your webcam is not working then you are installing the driver that was not supported by it then what you are to do i this:

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all.
OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time.
If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

It sounds like a driver problem. Incorrect drivers will cause the OS to crash / shutdown. Try updating your webcam drivers from the manufacturer's website for your operating system and see if the problem goes away.

Hi, i have an acer aspire right in front of me. First off they are very weird to what sites the web cam can be used with, i use skype, it is trusted with my computer. But if it isnt working in general most likely it wont work again.

Please try to adjust the resolution first.
If no use then reinstall the graphics driver.
If then also the issue is not resolved then it might be the issue with display panel cable and you need to replace it.

Is the driver for the Crystal Eye WEBcam installed, enabled and working?
If not then download the drivers from the Acer WEB site Make sure you select the model of your laptop and the XP version of the drivers you that require matches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

There are two possible solutions for this...
check all the sides in this notebook and look for a "wifi" button or switch, (usually comes with an LED light that turns from amber to blue)
the other option is to locate the "blue" Fn key on your keyboard and at the same time press the key that contains a "blue" little tower antena giving a signal"
this should enable your wireless adapter on this machine.

Try this To end processes automatically at shutdown -

1. Open Regedit and navigate to HK_Users\.Default\Control Panel\Desktop

2. Double-click on AutoEndTasks

3. Change the value from 0 to 1

4. Reboot your machine

Now hung processes will end automatically when you try to shutdown or reboot your machine.

maybe there are problems with the drivers for the webcam try to go to its manufaturer website and find latest drivers

If it was working before, then please make sure you don't have any viruses or other malware as they are known to cause internet connection problems. If your machine is clean then you can try to reestablish the connection by right clicking on the LAN icon and click on "repair". If that doesn't work, then try to reinstall your internet connection. Use another computer to download "combofix" from bleeping computer, run this and part of the fix is to reset the IE settings back

IE should restart after this, If not download say Firefox and get this installed and see if that will work, most cases it will and IE not, it can be bugs causeing your IE to stop working

Press Fn key + F5 once or twice. Usually Fn+F5 will toggle you between 3 options: internal LCD - Both internal & external - Enternal only. Wait a moment after changing the mode, as the monitor has to detect the signal and react to it.
Once you are on external only, you can change the screen resolution to better suit the external monitor's capabilities.
With the laptop and monitor active at the same time, both will operate at the same resolution.

Goto control panel, system , hardware , device manager, in the list check for a exclamation mark on the sound card drivers, if so right click on it and uninstall., hope this helps in some way.

Try a recovery if that does not work the laptop would need to be fixed, Acer had problems with this model in the past as they use the crystal eye tech.. So try a recovery to see if its a driver issue and if that does not work call acer executive supportspeak to phillip he is my guy over there he will help you as he is scared of the BBB trust me he was a enemy of mine now he is a good friend. Do not let acer let you down it will take talking to them but the job will get done. once again acer executive support.

I'm having a similar problem except my screen always shows only black. If you can get your image to appear sometimes it sounds like you may have a short in the hardware connecting your camera. I think you should contact ACER support and let them know you have a suspected hardware problem. I've tried uninstalled (right click my computer --> properites--> device manger-->imaging devices --> right click on webcam and select uninstall. The camera will re-install automatically when you reboot or have device manager scan for new hardware. You can also go to the acer website downloads section and make sure you have the latest webcam driver.

which keys are they? do you get numbers instead of letters on certain keys?

If you do, then the numlock is turned on, press down the FN key and find the numlock button.

Or hold down the windows key and press R, then write OSK and click ok

the on screen keyboard will pop up find the numlock key from there, or try scrlock. (scroll lock)

if the numpad is not visible click on settings and turn on the unmpad, then find the numlock button and press on it, then try the keys again.
