go to your registry by typing regedit in run or search text box.
then look for this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
then delete upper filter and lower filter on the list
restart system

Turn off the pc
remove cables and battery on your laptop
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds
reinsert the cables and battery on the pc
Turn on the pc

if the laptop wont start, please call the acer tech support 800-816-2237 for possible repair...

if you go to start then all programs look for acer crystal web cam ,it should be there,
or
download the drivers from acers website for free

go online www.acer.com then choose make, model,and country and all the drivers will be there, you can download them free.

Okay, Here's the deal..... I recently had the same problems with my friends' Acer Extensa laptop and here's what I did to fix it. I narrowed the issue down to two culprits 1. Overheating, 2. Defective Motherboard. I have fixed the problem but I takes time, patience and some technical ability which may not be available to some. :( (Swapping out the motherboard MAY fix the problem but if the defect is in the manufacturing process then the problems could return). Here's how I fixed it... While in the process of disassembly I noticed a small electrolytic capacitor that had seemingly broken off and had become wedged between the frame (very lucky! this gave me the clue I was looking for!). This made me think that it had broken off the motherboard. I proceeded to disassemble the laptop and found the location of the missing capacitor (there are two located right next to each other on the board) and was able to re solder the capacitor back onto the motherboard (could it be a manufacturing processing defect thats causing these to break loose? ). Mine was broken off due to what looked like bad solder joints. Your capacitors could still be attached but have weak solder connections. Also while i had access to the motherboard, I used the opportunity to clean and re apply the heat sink compound to the CPU and thoroughly clean the fan vents. I then reassembled the laptop and EVERYTHING has been running fine now for the last 3 days. Total time was about 4hrs and it cost NOTHING to repair. GOOD LUCK :)

Have you tried a different power cord? Make 100% sure yours is working or try a different one first. Try without battery plugged in.

you will need to reinstall the drivers for the sound card and your sound will work again. You will need to go to the manufactures web site and click on support. than enter your model number and or serial number and then click on search and should bring up a page that has a drop down pages so you can choose drivers and downloads than click on that and find the one that says sound and or multi media. aspire usually uses reltek for the sound driver.

The driver may be corrupted try by reinstalling the driver again and also download fresh copy of driver from the following link

You can uninstall the driver by using the uninstall option in device manager list.

you dont need to remove that. just use an air blower and blow air thru it from out side. that should be enough.

Try attaching an external keyboard to your usb port, if it works you might have an internal keyboard cable loose. Since everything is very cramped up in the notebooks unless you are really confident you may not want to open it up and check the cable yourself. You can send it in for service or warranty repair or take it to a local computer place that you trust and have them check it out.

You need to use the system restore disk(s) that accompanied the computer when it was purchased.

OK IT IS SOLDERED TO THE MOTHERBOARD you will have to take off the whole back cover not an easy task but not that hard be very carefull and remember where the screws came from they are not usually all the same size and there is a ribbon cable that goes to the lcd dont pinch bend or pull it at all remove the hard drive before you begin and take out the battery and leave it unplugged for about 2 hours

tro to hook external speakers to your pc,or headset if prob still persists, speaker needs to be replaced.

download them or if there on a disc just insert disc.
