Open "My Computer".
Do you see an icon for the CD-drive?
If not, then you have a hardware problem (no electrical power to the drive, or the "data" cable is not connected, or the electronics inside the CD-ROM have failed).

Take your computer to a qualified technician, and get him/her to install a brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer, to replace the "dead" one.

Need to remove all usb drive from the device manager and remove all driver from add and remove program and reinstall the driver properly.

There is a small screw that needs to be removed (dont loose it)

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad.
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

If you are using an upgrade version of Win 7, you must have Vista currently on your pc. If you have XP you will need the full version of Win or you will get all kinds of errors.

A "Boot" disk, is your Windows install disc. Or if you want to be able to Boot up for some other reason then there are a few that may help. Windows Live DVD, Linux Live DVD, BartPE, Ultimate Bootdisk.
Usually though one simply boot's on the Windows install DVD.

Okay, Here's the deal..... I recently had the same problems with my friends' Acer Extensa laptop and here's what I did to fix it. I narrowed the issue down to two culprits 1. Overheating, 2. Defective Motherboard. I have fixed the problem but I takes time, patience and some technical ability which may not be available to some. :( (Swapping out the motherboard MAY fix the problem but if the defect is in the manufacturing process then the problems could return). Here's how I fixed it... While in the process of disassembly I noticed a small electrolytic capacitor that had seemingly broken off and had become wedged between the frame (very lucky! this gave me the clue I was looking for!). This made me think that it had broken off the motherboard. I proceeded to disassemble the laptop and found the location of the missing capacitor (there are two located right next to each other on the board) and was able to re solder the capacitor back onto the motherboard (could it be a manufacturing processing defect thats causing these to break loose? ). Mine was broken off due to what looked like bad solder joints. Your capacitors could still be attached but have weak solder connections. Also while i had access to the motherboard, I used the opportunity to clean and re apply the heat sink compound to the CPU and thoroughly clean the fan vents. I then reassembled the laptop and EVERYTHING has been running fine now for the last 3 days. Total time was about 4hrs and it cost NOTHING to repair. GOOD LUCK :)

pls be advice that if your automatic updates are running those things were normal(provided it is configured to install automatically).Allow it to finish first, its not a problem I think. You can verify the updates afterwards.
With the curcsor try it agfain after the updates were finish, or else theres a problem with the keyboard.

try pressing fn and one of the f keys at the top.

go to your registry by typing regedit in run or search text box.
then look for this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
then delete upper filter and lower filter on the list
restart system

reinsert the cables and battery on the pc

It seems some recently installed hardware is making your computer error. Please disconnect ANY new installed or connected hardware and try.

If this fails its possible your computer has a virus, In which case you will need to re-install the operating system for it to run normally again.

The problem is likely a dead battery.The best way to test the battery is by fitting in a replacement battery. Battery can also be tested using a multimeter on Amps, this will not tell you if the battery is holding charge.
In some case the problem is not the battery, but wiring to the battery.
Laptops also have an internal battery power charger circuit, that can be integrated on main board or on a separate board.
As said, the most common failure is the battery itself.

Speaker is faulty. If the laptop is in warranty, get it replaced.

Have you tried a different power cord? Make 100% sure yours is working or try a different one first. Try without battery plugged in.
