Hi there,most likely problem is that the acer hotkey software is not installed. Or the drivers for the device are not installed. Most likely the hotkey software is not installed. The most typical cause of the problem is a fresh installation of windows to the computer, and the software was not installed with it. If that's not the case let me know.Thanks,Ekse

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS (operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the backup battery (CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. Sometimes the memory card connections can be faulty either on the card or on the slot. Cleaning the slot and card must be done before you try a replacement. If the PC boots and fails then the hard disc can have bad sectors or is corrupt. However if there is no result the motherboard also can be suspected. In this case you might need the help of proper tools and equipment support to do a chip level service.

Yes it seems confirmed that the amplifier within is in order and what would have gone wrong is the speakers within the unit. If you can open the laptop carefully sometimes it can be due to a mounting issue , otherwise a fault on the speakers coil or diaphragm, try and tap off dust ,press the diaphragm few times to make it move freely, if not you must find the same type replacement or will need to change them as a pair so as to sound equal.

Sounds like your cooling fan is faulty...
You need to try and blow the dust out of it using compressed air, by blowing air into the exaust of the laptop and hopefully this will clear your fan of dust and make your laptop run cooler.
If that does not solve the problem then your going to have to take your laptop apart and replace the cooling fan as it is defective.

i would try this

go to start button
then run or type into the box device manager
then scroll down to find imaging devices
click on the webcam un install it
restart the laptop
and hopefully windows will install it correctly on startup

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Press the windows key. Type "webcam" in the searchbar and your computer should find your webcam software.

Hi and welcome to fixya!

First thing you do for this is shut down the machine by just pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds.
Then unplugged the charger and take out the battery.
Next is press and hold the power button again for 10 seconds, without the charger and battery this time.
Put the battery back in and the charger and turn on the machine normally. This should solve the issue 95% of the time. If it does not, time to contact the warranty support for Acer.
