hi Chasity, the first thing i would check is to make sure the batteries are ok. have you tried it with just the mains cord to see if it still does it.

First thing is not to post the same query twice. Second is to replace the batteries, as they are the most likely source of excess heat.

You have got dust, grit or something similar into the mechanism

Could be an error in the card's filesystem. Back up any photos on the card and use your camera's menu to format the card.
