It seems that the problem is with the gear-motor allignment of the lens which moves in and out with the help of motor
. This part is replaceable at an authorized Sanyo Service Center. I would guess the cost of repair around $150 which is too much and you would rather prefer getting a new camera.

Try taking out your batteries and then taking out your memory card. Put back in batteries. Turn on camera.

If this works, just put back in your memory card and try again. Sometimes the memory card hangs and you need to pop it in and out.

replace lens unit

Almost certainly the pictures are dark and blurred because the flash doesn't work. These cameras are not worth repairing, generally, so either just use it in daylight or get another one - and don't buy Sanyo. Canon, HP, Panasonic, Samsung are better.

If your using the camera with a sd card and you have a sd slot on your computer you will not need a disk. Just insert the sd card to the computer go to start > computer> then click on the sd card and the pictures should be there.

With your Sanyo camera, you've got the choice to use AA alkalines or NiMHd rechargeable batteries.

Two suggestions: if you are still not comfortable with recharge batts, you can simply take along an ample supply of AA. Currently there are newer AA batts that are designed for extra life as well.

But if you want to give rechargeables another try, look for batts that have a higher mAh rating.This is the batt's lasting power..
So if you can find a 1600, 1900, .... the higher the better.

I do not want to offend anyone but 1. r u using the correct batteries. 2. is the batteries placed correctly inside the camera. 3. is the battery power rating fresh/strong. If u have read and followed the guides in the operating manual and u still have the problem, I strongly suggest u return the camera to the place you bought it for a replacement

I think I have corrected the problem. The larger (outside) button and center (inside) button seemed to have come loose, turning them counter-clockwise (unintentionally) when using them. I do not know this but I think the buttons are screwed in. After hours of frustation trying to find a solution, I turned the buttons clockwise until it seemed not to move and felt locked/tight. I then used the buttons as desired and they began to beep/work as intended. (If the buttons are screwed in, it is beyond my imagination why this is so. Thank you for your reply.

Try using the memory card to upload the pics. If your computer doesn't have the slot, go to an electronics store (any will do) and get a memoury card reader. If you're not sure what type it is, take it to the store with you and ask a rep.
