I recently got a infitek ditgal player and it doesn't have a manual and i have know idea on how to use it. Can you please let me know where i can get some help.
Problem: Infitek MP4 player is recognized by Vista and Windows XP but when you try to put files on it, error pops up.
Solution: The MP4 needs to be reformatted to FAT32 file system, here is howto do it:
1) Connect USB cable to PC
2) Connect Infitek to cable.
3) An AutoPlay window will pop up on your PC. Select "Open folders to view files using Windows Explorer"
4) On the left of the explorer window the following will be seen "Removable Disk (?:)" (? can be any letter in the alphabet, most likely E-K)
5) Right click on "Removable Disk (?:)" with your mouse and select "Format"
6) "Format Removable Disk (?:)" window will appear, select FAT32 from the FIle system Combo box and select Quick Format from the Format options and click on START
You may need to format the MP4 more than once, it did not work for mr the first time.
7) After you receive a message, Format completed successfully you can drag and drop any files to the "Removable Disk (?:)" which is the MP4 player storage area.
8) Disconnect the cable, turn on the MP4, if at main menu use the >>| key to get to the Music, Click MENU key to get to the first song, click >|| to play song.
I used .WMA files (Windows Media Player) songs. They seemed to work ok
Good luck!

the device gives me file system error on all options music radio pictures etc have reset seveal times and still gives the same message
Go to the Coby website, look for your model player. On the that page there is an option to download latest firmware and the video converter.Download the zip file for the firmware.PLEASE NOTE...when you unzip the file please read the pdf file for instuction before you try to click the actual firmware file. One important reason is because using the firmware update restores your player to manufactures default and deletes all files presently on it....So my advice back up your files and read the instructions carefully. This fireware update is specifically to fix that sys err problem.
I hope it all works out

I bought the Coby MP 610 4GB mp3 player and can't get my computer to recognize it at all when I plug it into the USB port. It will charge it but I can't sync it thru my Windows Media Player to load my music. I also tried retrieving the manual that is loaded on it but can't get it. I even tried to download the manual from Coby's website and still nothing. To be honest I purchased and exchanged this mp3 player already. The first one I couldn't even get the radio to play on it. I tried resetting it. When I reset the first one it made it start acting funny. I said that to say this I don't want to reset this one maybe as a last result. Can someone help me please?
ok you need to unplug the mp3 from usb port and then shutdown your computer properly then wen it is totally shut down turn it off at the wall and then back on the same thing happens with me you properbly just didnt shut your comp down properly last time you used it

It's been working for a long time, but then it stopped working... it turns on, but a message pops-up saying the device cannot be recognized... and it basically drains the power of the mp3... cuz I noticed that when I plugged it in, and it turned on... then about 2 hours later, I plugged it off, then try to turn it on, it said the batter is empty...
QUESTION ONE:
Can you
see it in "My Computer"? It will show under "Removable Drive/Storage"
QUESTION
TWO:
Double click the removable drive to open the folders. Can you
see your music, photo and photo folders?
QUESTION THREE:
Can you see the player in
Coby Manager - under the "DEVICE" tab?
QUESTION FOUR:
When disconnected from the
computer, how long can you listen to the Coby player before it goes
off?
If not present in My Computer
or in Coby Manager, then it is not plugged in correctly.
a. Disconnect the
player from the computer.
b. Wait for it to cycle through "Please Wait"
and "Updating Library" screens.
c. Make sure the player is TURNED
OFF ! ! !
d. With player TURNED OFF,
reconnect wire to the player then to the computer.
e. You will see a USB connector icon on the player screen and the player battery charging.
It will appear to be charging all
the while it is connected to the computer. After it has been plugged into the
computer for an hour, it should be well charged unless the battery is completely
run down. In that case, you need to do an initial 8-16 hour charge with the player turned OFF connected to the computer.
IT WILL NOT CHARGE WITH A COMPUTER UNLESS IT IS TURNED OFF WHEN YOU CONNECT IT.
f. Use the Coby Manager to disconnect the player
(Found
HERE if you have had to format the player)
CobyMedia Manager fix for MP822
(Windows XP/2000/Vista)
1. Go to the
DEVICE TAB
2. CLICK on EJECT Button in lower right hand corner.
3. It will have a pop-up screen to ask "Do you want to eject?" Click YES.
4. The second pop-up screen
will tell you "The device can now be safely removed from the system."
5.
The Coby will now show "Please Wait..."
6. It will take the Coby
about 10 minutes on the "Please Wait" screen and then on the "UPDATE the
Library" screen - Be PATIENT
You should now have enough battery power to
use it. To check the battery level,
1. Turn on the player
2. The
battery icon is in the upper right hand corner of the screen - it is ALWAYS RED until it starts to go down... I've
not had mine down very far, but believe the red line gets shorter as the battery
is wearing down.
Hope this helps

If you wish to download for Mac, click here to visit the Coby support website. The downloads are stated as a 'fix' but actually they are full programs.
If you have trouble during installation refer to the guide in the manual or let me know by posting here.

I have purchased a bush MP3 player MPK8099BUK and when the device is connected to a USB port I am unable to use the menu screen. It reads "connected Eject before disconnecting" The reason I bought the player was to use with my usb compatible car radio installed on my boat. when plugged in to the radio I then want to choose the tunes from the mp3 list. the songs start to play through the radio and are identified on the radio digital read out. This means I can hear them but not select the tunes I want. Hope this makes sense. The same message reads when connected to the computer.
press m.
