I'd guess the cooling fan is not working and the high temp cutout shuts it off.

hello there. It's a bit of a strange question to ask. But I would first check the lamp umber printed on the lamp. I am sure there is a printed number on it. Secondly I would return the lamp to a TV retailer and purchase or order a new lamp. But if this is too much for you, you can get a lamp from the internet at possibly half the price, delivered, on Amazon and EBay. Here are a few links to try. bulbs explode when they are not cooled properly. check your fans.

Your color is distorted because your color wheel is probably going bad. Try resetting all the picture values first. Sometimes they need to go back to normal when the lamp is changed. Lamps only provide white light and have no bearing on colors unless they are very dim. Also check your cables. a loose or bad cable can cause this as well. Lastly make sure your new lamp is made by Osram or Philips. knock offs wont work.

You have a bad power supply board. Check EBay or Shopjimmy to find a new board. You will need your model #. Which starts with WD-

Are you sure the TV supports 720p? Many older 55" RPTVs are 480 only. Even with Component. Most older component is only 480

You must use the factory remote. Mutlibrand will not work for this option. No matter the universal remote, you need the original. No other way to do this. 1. Press MENU on original remote only 2. Then press 2,4,7, and 0 3. Select "initialize" and then 'ENTer" This will full restore to factory original settings. but you need the original Mitsubishi remote.

Hello, did you touch the face of the lamp? If you did, you will need to clean it off to remove your prints. The next thing is, the fans may not be working properly and not cooling the lamp and light engine properly. Let me know....tks

have you cleaned the lens & mirror? you can access those by removing one or both the porthole covers. There is a porthole cover on each side of the unit (left & right ) of the screen.

you don't have an HDMI input on this unit & will need to use the component input.

I think this is a DLP tv and has a special fan deep inside the works. I think, not sure, but you can google around to find more information that error code 42 is that fan having failed or disconnected somehow.

You must follow instructions very carefully when replacing the lamp. Chances are the door did not get shut tightly allowing an open circuit to the door switch and the fan. If the fan is not running you must go back and make sure the lamp installation is right. also, if you did not purchase an exact replacement lamp it may be defective. If the fan is running then the chance is for a bad lamp. Hope this helps.

It usually means big trouble. But first turn the set off, unplug the power cord for a couple of hours and then try again. If still blinking, count the number of blinks and google for Mitsubishi blinking code. You can look for specific information and troubleshooting with the model number found on the back of the set.

Sounds like the Power Board Switch is bad. Anew one is a bit expensive to purchase.

Hello, it sounds like your color wheel is going bad. the humming noise is usually the bearing in it going bad and it starts to distort the image and finally it will shut the set down because it is malfunctioning......tks
