Hi,

When you get your manual (the 1975 Entertainer is the STD2) I would check out the very fine cables that are on arm that runs over the tormat on your jukebox. On the tormat is a series of contacts A and B that are for each of the record selections. The contact can be cleaned with a pencil eraser (rubber) this will clean the contacts up with out any damage.

I have a seeburg firestar that scans twice but will not pick up records . does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Check out the tormat on your jukebox. It runs almost the full length of the mechanism. On the tormat is the A and B side contacts and a ground rail. You will see that on the mechanism is a arm that runs over these contacts on it it has very fine wire links (similar to those on motor brushes) these can become disconnected and may require being resolderd back into place.

THIS JUKEBOX IS 40 YEARS OLD. LUBRICATION MAY BE THE PROBLEM. HERE IS HOW TO FORCE THE SEEBURG JUKEBOX TO PICK UP A RECORD AND PLAY A SONG.
LOOK AT THE ARM THAT HOLDS UP THE NEEDLE AND CARTAGE. NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE RED ARM, ONE INCH TOWARD THE MOTOR, THERE IS A HORIZONTAL LEAVER LIFT IT UP A RECORD WILL GO INTO THE HEAD, THAT RECORD SHOULD PLAY THE SONG, IF THE LUBRICATION IS OK.
IF THE RECORD GOES INTO THE HEAD, AND THEN PUTS THE RECORD BACK IN THE RACK. YOU HAVE A LUBRICATION PROBLEM.
THAT IS A TOUGHT MACHINE TO FIX IOF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH IT.
DOCTOR FIX IT.

I have a Rowe AMI 100CD jukebox. Its making a loud

I have a Rowe AMI 100CD jukebox. Its making a loud buzzing noise when I plug it in. Everything else works except the loud noise that I have to unplug it right sway. Do you think it is the red button fuse, all other fuses on amp are ok?

Hello camillemario,

The problem sounds as if there is a fault on the amplifier.
Pull the 110 volt plug from the power supply that feeds the amplifier.

If the amp is at fault and you are in the USA I would contact Bruce Wentworth for a test/repair to your amplifier.

Wurlitzer Jukebox 1015 OMT won't play CDs

Wurlitzer Jukebox 1015 OMT won't play CDs
The arm picks up the CD, places it on the player, then the CD spins for about 10 seconds, slows to a stop, and the arm puts it back in the carousel. None of the CDs will play. How can I fix this?

This is a laser unit fault or the pcb under the laser unit. Both are expensive.

I just purchased a Rowe/AMi

I just purchased a Rowe/AMi Fiesta R-83 jukebox and it has an intermittent issue. Once you punch in your selection it will either rotate the transport and stop without choosing your selection or it will ignore the number you selected and go into the random free play and start playing all of the selections one at a time and it is neccessary to hit the reset button to stop.... I have checked the Switch on the selector computer to be sure it is set to Normal, sometimes after flipping it a few times it will go back to normal and other times it will not. Any suggestions? Thanks Brian

Hello Brian,

Rowe Ami jukeboxes are known for their dry joints on the connection pins where they are soldered to the boards.
The R-80S to R-83 uses CMOS chips on the circuit boards and these are susceptible to static discharge so good eathing practices when undertaking repairs are required.
I suggest that you send in the following boards to be tested as a set of boards to a Rowe Ami repairer. If you were in the UK you could send them into me, in the USA Bruce Wentworth is the man.

Memory unit (on the mechanism/carousel)
Mechanism Control unit ( on the mechanism/carousel)
Selector Logic (on the righthand side of the cabinet, behind the display/keyboard etc)

If it still wont select, check the pulse amplifier. It plugs into the selection receiver chassis and has the RCA plug on the top. Open it up and change the capacitor(s) and there is a high value resistor in there as well CHANGE IT! It is commonly bad. Also check the tube, and replace it if it;s ? or weak.

I think you mean a Seeburg M100C
This is known as the "sit and spin" The main clutch is not shifting properly. This is a lubrication issue. the old grease has become glue like and is gumming everything up. The main clutch is located between the record rack and the record mechanism. Spray the s**t out of it with WD40 you may have to let it soak over night or take the record rack off. Don't remove it unless you have to. make sure that you blast that clutch (see pi of clutch) The thing at the thumb needs to move up and down freely. it work on gravity!!!
24614542-gg2ae1cwkykr1dpptmtggk30-2-0.jpg

DO NOT REMOVE THE CLUTCH AS PICTURED
Remember you will need to spray through the record rack to get at it, so you will need a good flashlight to see it.

Make sure that the trip lever is not sticking. the can be gotten to easily. 24614542-gg2ae1cwkykr1dpptmtggk30-2-2.jpg
These pic may look slightly different from your C but the mech is basically the same. The trip lever in the pic is at rest. yours is likely up at an angle. Try raising it up or down after spraying.\

Once you get it moving again make sure you oil the piont with liquid bearings or other quality oil. Because WD40 will not keep it going it will gum up again if you don't oil. Do not over oil. it has a way of getting between contact that it's not supposed to. AND keep using it every day for a while.

TOC Error - Table of Contents. The 8 flashes in this way to prolong the "Read" so bad CD can be take out.

More likely your player is beginning to fail to read the CD. Try cleaning the player lens with a Qtip and a bit of saliva. If that doesn't help, and it;s not the CD's then you may need to start thinking about sending that player out to be refurbished.
