INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR FOSSIL CH2698

See https://www.fossil.com/content/dam/fossil/PDF/watchinstructions/Fossil_Watch_Instructions_EN_US.pdf The file is a compendium of instructions for a large number of Fossil movements, but it is unclertain which movements the model CH-2331 and CH-2698 watches use. However, movement OS10 (page 15) appears to be the only one that matches the dial layout, button layout and also has a date window as the CH-2331. The watch has a quartz analog mechanism and uses one SR927W 1.55-volt silver oxide button cell. Silver oxide cells have low current output, but very long shelf life, so if the stem is pulled out completely when the watch isn't being worn, the battery could last many years. Scan the instructions to match up the CH-2698 with a movement number. A good guess from examining photos of the face of a CH-2698 watch would be movements OS20 / FS00 or VD53.

The minute hand spins freely. how do i fix this?

Your hands need to be reset. It is possible that you have dropped your watch or have knocked it on something to make them come loose. You need to take it into a jeweler or a watch repair person to have it fixed because they will need to open the watch up to solve the problem.

I have a fossil arkitekt how do u take the back of

mcdevito75 here, Look very closely at the back cover for any groove that line up with the case and the back of the watch, if so place a sharp blade knife in that groove and gently twist cover off. Also look for a small tab comming off the back cover, if so the knife blade ios placed under it and gently twisted to remove back cover. If by chance you see square type holes around the edge of the back cover then it"s a screw on back and you"d need a special tool to un-screwit, see a small watch repair shop for this type of back cover.

Minute needle is loose. How can I take out the

mcdevito75 here, the tools and time and above all, believe it or not, the need for you too move your fingers around a watch movement really isn"t isn"t worth the trouble, Believe it you have an 60% chance of success and if it"s a Quartz Mechanism only a 30% chance of success. BEST BET look for a small watch repair shop in your area to do the job.

Watch doesnt work even with a new battery

The 2 most common reasons for a watch to not work after a battery change are:
1) The circuit is not functioning properly.  99% of the time it is not efficient to have this fixed.  It almost always needs to be replaced when this is the problem.
2) The oils in the watch have either become thick like car oil, or thin and now the metal parts are causing too much friction.
The 2nd problem can be fixed by having the watch serviced.  Servicing is usually between $50 and $100 for Fossil's depending on where you go.  This may not be efficient since most Fossil's are less than $150.
Stores that service watches are Tourneau and Precision Time: www.tourneau.com www.precisiontimeco.com

Remove a link from an armitron ladies watchband model 6P29

More than 90% of Fossil's watches utilize pins that push out.  You can determine whether or not it pushes out by checking if there is an arrow on the back of the link.  If there is an arrow, you should push the link out in the direction of the arrow.  Usually, the link needs to be pushed at least 25% of the way out before it will be loose enough to pull out.  I suggest using pliers and be sure you pull straight out or you risk damaging the pin.  Be sure to watch for a small tube or 'sleeve' that may be in the link.

CH2301 battery replacement. How open compartment?

There are 2 ways that Fossil closes the caseback on their watches.  It is either a 'pop-off' caseback that you will need to pry off.  Get something very small and thin, such as a small flathead screwdriver.  There is usually a small groove somewhere around the edge of the caseback where you can insert the blade.  The other type screws off.  You will need to unscrew the caseback.  You can determine if it screws off by looking for 6 notches around the outside edge of the caseback.  You will use these notches to insert a tool to rotate the caseback off.  Without a specialized tool called a watch-wrench, I suggest bringing it to a store such as Precision Time or Tourneau.
