Hobart LX 18 problem

You are having a problem with the fill valve. If the unit fills AT ALL, with the power off, the fill valve is the issue.

It is a gold color valve behind the front kick panel. It has a large castle-like cap. Sometimes debris is the cause of your failure. (50/50). Turn off the water, and just take it apart slowly and pay attention to the plunger and spring. Take out the diaphram and screen, and clean it. There should be just one small hole in the diaphram. If cleaning doesn't help, you need to buy a rebuild kit. If you get the "ML" off the data plate, I can get you the kit P/N.

good luck

Dishmachine won't fill

Your problem is as straightforward as your observation, the unit is not getting enough water flow.

First, if your DW water is hooked up with a braided stainless hose, there is usually a screen in the end of it, (check both ends). It gets clogged with debris and chokes off the water. Make sure the line is not kinked.

If that doesn't work, you are likely having trouble with your fill valve. It is under the front kick panel. It has a large castle like upper cap. It is common for debris in the water to make this valve malfunction. It isn't too difficult to open up without removing. Just watch how it is assembled. If you pay attention, it's easy. If you have a booster, the hoses are very brittle with age.

And otherwise, the fill valve may be bad. REMEMBER, verify your supply water flow where it connects to the machine first. Don't assume. You could have a pressure regulator or a line strainer that is part of your supply line. They do fail. But that's a plumber's fix, not a technician.

LXGH E5 Code

I need to check my codes to be positive. And I'll check them this weekend. But, I believe E5 is from excess water in the unit, and so it won't go into rinse and add more water.

First and most common -- the drain hose, at the back of the unit is kinked. The unit gets pushed back against the wall and kinks the line.

Second, your probes are dirty. The ones in the back right corner detect water level. Clean them with a green scrungee even if they look clean.

Good luck - Mike

$0. Clean the probes. Two in back right corner. Two under the front screen. Use a green scrubby.

If the problem persists, check where the water comes into the machine. There is a screen on the hose that clogs up and starves the machine for water.

Hobart AM15-1 Low Temperature Dishwasher. Techs question. I just replaced main board and relay board but now getting a E1 error code, curious if anyone knows what it is?

Question edited for clarity. Error codes should be on the rear label according to the Technical Manual https://www.partstown.ca/modelManual/HOB-AM15T_spm.pdf There is no E1 error code for that machine and is is suggested that the display may be faulty. https://www.google.com/search?q=hobart+am15+e1+error+code The only reference to E1 is here, for the AM-16 and an electrical 'type'. https://www.hobart.ca/wp-content/uploads/pdfs/warewash/AM16-BAS-Base-Electric-CF48568.pdf For LXi machines Drain and fill error messages are displayed as E0, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6 or E7. In all cases, the dishwasher will terminate current cycle operations, turn off all heat sources and display the message until the OFF button is pressed. (A power drain will not occur when turned off.) (See Troubleshooting.) Question edited for clarity and written English. It is a professional machine, you have it serviced professionally by your local Hobart Service Centre and claim the repair against your expenses. The machines are way beyond the capabilities of someone that can just buy parts online. It is either incorrectly wired or the control board or relays are are failing / failed.

Hobart AM14, the float assembly keeps failing. We are on our 4th one. Ruled out heat, electrical and we also replaced the main board. Anyone experienced this before?

It sounds like you're experiencing recurring issues with the float assembly on your Hobart AM14 dishwasher. You've already ruled out potential causes such as heat and electrical issues, and have even replaced the main board to try to resolve the problem. However, you're still encountering failures with the float assembly, which is unusual given that the dishwasher has been in use for 18 years without any prior issues with the float. Without additional information or an on-site inspection, it's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the float assembly failures. However, some potential causes could include:
  1. Damage or wear to the float assembly parts: Over time, the float assembly parts may become worn or damaged, which can affect their performance and lead to failures.
  2. Water quality issues: Poor water quality, including high mineral content or excessive amounts of chemicals, can damage the float assembly or cause it to malfunction.
  3. Improper installation: If the float assembly is not installed correctly, it may not function properly and could fail prematurely.
  4. Inconsistent usage: If the dishwasher is not used consistently or is used excessively, this could put strain on the float assembly and cause it to fail more frequently.
It's important to work with a qualified technician who has experience with Hobart AM14 dishwashers to diagnose and resolve the issue. They can inspect the dishwasher, including the float assembly and other components, and identify any potential causes of the failures. From there, they can recommend the appropriate course of action to resolve the problem and prevent future failures.
