The issue is with the gas valve solenoids getting weak when heated resulting in the closing of the gas valves and going out of the burner. Replace both solenoids to address the problem and put the dryer back into normal operation. The solenoids are part numbers 694539 and 694540.

Pull the lint trap out then remove the screws under it.

Pry the top cover as shown then raise it to the rear of the dryer.

Remove the screws attaching the front panel to the cabinet then lift and remove the panel. Replace the solenoid coils then reassemble the dryer in reverse order of the disassembly steps.

The dryer only dries clothes on the timed setting.

Hi.

When in normal mode (Auto Dry) the dryer does not use the dryness (moisture) sensor, but simply cycles for a determined time, or until the thermostat breaks the cycle.
When cycling, the dryer does not use only the dryness sensor, but also the thermostat to cycle at different temperatures. In Bulky , Touch up, Timed Dry, and Quick, the cycle is not based on dryness, but on temperature and time only.

Parts that may need replacement are dryness sensor, termostate, and if that does not fix the problem, also control board.

Please, enter the model number here to locate parts and diagrams for your appliance.

How do you relight the pilot on a kenmore 80

Their is no pilot light. The system uses a glowbarce9a48b.jpgOPERATION
The newer dryers use a silicone carbide ignitor for ignition. If the Fuse is ok482c508.jpg the gas assembly gets power from the control thermostatfa8083a.jpg. The flame sensor allows the ignitor to go cat go. The coils themselves10e9e78.jpg cannot open the gas because the ignitor is using a lot of power. When flame detectc5ddc7a.jpg gets warm enough then it shuts down the ignitor and power is redirected on the other side of the 3 prong coil. The ignitor is not finished. It now is hot enough to act as a path to the secondary coil which energizes and sends that raw gas to the 1800f screaming hot ignitor. Igniton occurs and keeps the ignitor hot. If ignition at this point were to fail the ignitor would cool down and shut off the power to the secondary coil. Clever ain't it? So what can go wrong? Worn out flame sensor takes longer to reset, ignitor open. Clogged vent012c9c0.jpg overheat fuse blown, bad thermostat, and faulty solenoids. If all is good it should continually shut on and off all during the cycle to regulate the heat

HOW DO i RELIGHT the pilot light on my 20 year old

Hello, your dryer does not have a pilot light. It has an igniter/glow plug which ignites the gas. I am assuming your dryer is working ok but is not heating? if this is the case here are a few things you should check. Ignitor, thermal fuse, valve coils, hi-limit thermostat and flame sensor. I can't unfortunately be any more specific then that since I don't know what the problem is. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again( giving me some time to respond). Thanks! Mike

No heat burner comes on for a few minutes and then goes out

Check the following to address this issue.

1. Gas valve coils
Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

2. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

3. Igniter
Igniter may burn out or break. Replace the igniter if found defective.

Note: Igniters are very fragile and break easily. It is recommended to handle the igniter only touching the ceramic part of it (usually white in color).

4. Flame sensor (or radiant heat sensor)
Replace the sensor (located near the igniter) if found defective.

Kenore Senor Smart 27-inch dryer control panel not working

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Dryer doesn't dry, lint not cloged,

When you say lint not clogged I assume you mean the removable lint trap in the dryer. If the drum gets hot (open the door a few minutes into the cycle) then most likely you have a vent problem. You will need to check if the vent is blocked solid either by lint or if the vent pipe is crushed. I would suggest going out to whereever the vent ends on the outside of the building and see if air is getting blown out with the dryer on. If no air is coming out then chances are it is blocked. If the drum is cold then gas flame is not getting hot.
