Chest freezer lid repair
if your freezer has the sping etc in each of the hinges, then yes take them off. If your freezer has a torshon bar type spring, DO NOT take the hinges off, as you will not get it back together
i have always replaced liners with the door attached. The lid of the freezer is going to bow out of shape when you remove all the screws and take the old lining off, so you need to replace the lining and leave the screws loose so you can realine the door bit by bit.
it is a bastard of a job, and i wish you all the best.
Kenmore freezer model 2709 will not run for more then 2 or 3 mins
It's either a bad thermostat, or a bad compressor kicking out on overload. There are other rare possibilities. A multi meter is the best way to check the thermostat (using ohms), but if you don't have one then you can unplug the box and wire around the thermostat and the plug the box back in to see if it runs longer. If so, then unplug the box and replace the thermostat. If you are unfamiliar with wiring then call a technician. Electricity can kill you if you don't know what you're doing, so don't chance it if you don't know anything about it.
Is there a reset button on montgomery ward 8838
If it is not getting cold I would first check the t-stat to see if it is operational only after seeing if there is power to the t-stat. If it is good then you most likely have a compressor problem. Check the overload on the compressor under the black cover on the side of the compressor if power is getting through that and still not running then comp is shot.
good luck
Chest Freezer Stopped Working 14 years old
The first thing you want to ensure is that power is actually getting into the unit. i suggest that you do that by plugging a night light into the outlet and verify the presence or power. If no power, check your breakers. If power is present note that A chest freezer has only two working parts; the start relay that help the compressor start and a compressor. If you are getting clicking sound, your start relay may be out (inexpensive if you can buy it and install it yourself) or a bad compressor. if you need to call a tech for the repair, you may be able to purchase a new chest freezer that now consume HALF the power and for less than cost of repair.
Compressor will not come on
Check that the freezer has power. After that make sure the thermostat is turned down low. If it still isn't starting, listen for any clicks like its trying to start. If no clicks, replace the start capacitor or thermostat. If there's clicks like its trying to start, try a hard start kit for your freezer, or you might just need a new compressor
How to wire a compressor for a fridgeadair freezer
Unless you are changing the compressor don't change any wiring. A live phase comes from the thermostat which goes to the c (common) and the neutral phase goes to a relay which sits over s (start) and r (run.) It doesn't matter if the live and neutrals are reversed.
Hums seconds only does not freeze
If it hums then quits and hums and quits and just keeps doing this then either the compressor start relay is burned out or the compressor is seized. Unless you are capable of diagnosing this you should have a tech check it out. If it's just a relay they are relatively cheap, but if it's the compressor it could cost more than the freezer is worth.
Would like to know if laying a feezer onit side
Hi,
As long as the freezer is not plugged in while on it's side and after you put it right side up you wait an hour to let all the compressor oil drain back to normal nothing bad can happen.
Hello i have a kenmore chest freezer model 25519702010
It sound like either the compressor is damaged or the system has a leak. Either way if it's only 6 months old you should call the store you bought it from and have them book an appointment to have it repaired under warranty. If it's not under warranty then you'll still have to have a tech check it out with special equipment that you won't find in any store.

It dosn't seem to be
almost instantly you will feel the walls inside begin to get cold if not the unit is damaged and will need to be repaired
Turn freezer on and started to cool and to see it
The reed valve in the compressor has failed, or the dryer unit is bloked. if you can access the rear of the freezer, with power off, tap the compressor gently with a solid object (hammer), then start the unit, also, if you see the copper tubes near the compressor, you will notice one of the tubes feeds into a copper barrel object about 3-4 inches long, it will have a fine copper tube comming out at the other end about 3mm thick, with the unit on, tap this object with the back of a bread and butter knife a few times with about the same force as to open a nut ( A good tap). Should do the trick if the unit is repairable.
Hope that helps, dont forget to vote and get back to me for further solutions if this fails..Russ
