Freezer Baskets fall off Guides
I have the same freezer and have the same problem with the baskets. I hope they come up with a solution because my baskets are inoperable right now...
Replace battery
what is model number. Always give model number so you can receive correct help.
Foul fish smell emanating from the freezer
Well an old remedy is to put a box of opened arm and hammer baking soda in the freezer and fridge to keep it from having bad odors. If that doesn't work you can try some charcoal it is perfect for absorbing odor, just don't use the matchlight kind or it will smell like lighter fluid.
Older kenmore freezer low in refrigerant charge of r-12.
There are some drop ins, but none are marketed for consumer products like this. Also, a new unit will use so much less electricity that you'd save enough money in a year or maybe two to pay the cost difference between the cost of recharge compared to new.
And....many times recharging units like this don't last long because they normally use a capillary tube in the system (instead of a thermal expansion valve). The cap tubes have a very small opening, and when the system is opened and recharged even very small contaminants can clog the cap tube later on and then the unit won't work.
Best bet is to get a new one.
The freezer has been beeping about every 30
along as the freezer is workin fine then you can do this:
sorry if i am not accurate but you did not provide a complete model number so i dont have any diagram to follow
if this was my freezer and i would disconnect the wires going to the beeping sound. i thought of that too of course. if you send me a complete mod. # then i will give detail way to do this
hope this was helpful
Need to empty drip pan. How do you remove the
The standard procedure is to remove the plastic grill at the bottom of the front of the freezer and then slide the pan out for cleaning and emptying. Might as well vacuum dust out while your at it. Helps the compressor operate at a cooler temperature.
Please rate this answer for me. Thank you.
Yellow power light keeps blinking on upright
If its the power light, and not a temperature alarm light, it may only indicate that there was a power loss, perhaps you had a brown out or power surge. you say the temps are good, any chance you have ice cream or bread in freezer? if its above 10° F they will be first to get soft, rather than firm. If I had the model # as it is on the model number tag, the only tag usually on the inside or possible on the outside, of the unit, that will have the model and serial number both listed.
It works intermittently.
most likely this is caused to a failure of the temperature control. next time you notice its not frozen, take a note if it is running or not. if its not, lightly tap on the temp control knob, or try slowly ...does the unit kick on?
its also possible that you have a bad defrost control, but that is less likely
I can't find the battery
The freezer has no 9 volt battery. If you have the light burnt out I can help you there just need to get the full model #
Freezer do not turn off automatic.
Good day,
If the freezer gets to normal temperature, then the cold control (thermostat) is defective and needs replaced.
If it fails to reach 0 degrees or colder, then there is an issue with the system.
Loss of refrigerant is one item. If it's frost free then it could be a defective fan motor behind the back panel, or the defrost system has failed. (frost building up on the rear panel).
My kenmore freezer 9280210 is not getting cold
Please confirm whether the back of the freezer, or the coils that you said frost builds on, only have a slight amount of frost buildup. The back should NEVER have any frost, and the coils should only have a slight amount of frost. Once the coils accumulate any appreciable amount of ice buildup, the defrost system should energize. What condition are the door gaskets? This could be the problem too, and you make a good point about pulling a vacuum. Although, with leaky door gaskets, a vacuum cannot be pulled, and that puts an excessive load on the cooling system. The better test for door gaskets is to place a dollar bill between the gasket and door frame with door closed. You should feel resistance to pulling the dollar out. Door gaskets and door vacuum can be a Catch-22. You can't have one without the other, provided the cooling system and defrost system is working properly.
Lots of frost in freezer
check your seals on the door and see if any on the compartments are broken because if the door is broken to the compartment it could be that the the cold and warmth is mixing causing your freezer to frost up temp could also be to high check all
hope this help
