What to do if you have a freon leak in the freezer
charge with detail (that is a Freon with Red dy solution to help locate your system leak) locate leak, repair using silver solder, evacuate system completely, pull vacuum down to 27" plus Lbs. vacuum, close system to hold vac pressure, monitor pressure for 30 minute or so, if vacuum hold pressure then you have successfully fixed your system leak, next hook up your system to the manifold gages assembly to a Freon supply source, all this while retainning your vacuum pressure, slowly crack open the valve on the manifold to allow the new freon to enter your system until you see pressure building up in you system, next monitor the discharge line i.e. the bigger line until you see frost extending outside of your freezer unit toward your compressor assembly, then close the freon supply valve, wait for a while to see if the frost line recede into the unit box, if it does not recede but stay out of the box or extend some more then you must must release some freon slowly a very small amount at the time until the frost line has regressed into your freezer box. this should complete your repair, good luck
