Miriam, was it the "eRecovery" you were trying to do? Also, is it an XP system or have you upgraded? The HDD is only one of three causes for this error, RAM and missing ntdl are the other two.
Get a brand new adapter and it will work. You have a short in that flimsy wire from the adapter to the computer...like can these guys make the wires anymore flimsy?
The Aspire One can still be usable. Go to YouTube and find a video showing how to download a version of Linux via USB Flash Drive. Try Mint 15 or an older version of Kubuntu, (I am using 11.04), and it works as well as Microsoft 7 on these computers.
There's a button on your printer that says on-line. Press it. What is the make and model of your printer. Are you directly connected to the printer or is this through a network?
If it has lines running through it, there is nothing you can do to make them go away, and they persist from the moment the pc is turned on, you most likely have rows of dead pixels. These can happen for many reasons, if they're colored a computer technician may be able to get them "unstuck for you" however this can be futile. If they are black, they're dead however, and there is nothing you will be able to do about them without buying a new monitor.
go to google.com and in the search box type step by stop on how to change your wallpaper in microsoft windows. select the first link. many examples. good luck.
If you have a disc, then put it in and follow the install instructions. If you got it from a download, then double click the .exe file and instal. If you don't know where the software is, do a search online for it, and download it from there. Install by double clicking the installation file or .exe file. usually it will say on the file Install. I hope this helps you.
