Find the hardware ID in the Device manager and search on that on Google.

Miriam, was it the "eRecovery" you were trying to do? Also, is it an XP system or have you upgraded? The HDD is only one of three causes for this error, RAM and missing ntdl are the other two.

The way I interpret that question is to change the home page of your particular browser to Yahoo.

Get a brand new adapter and it will work. You have a short in that flimsy wire from the adapter to the computer...like can these guys make the wires anymore flimsy?

The Aspire One can still be usable. Go to YouTube and find a video showing how to download a version of Linux via USB Flash Drive. Try Mint 15 or an older version of Kubuntu, (I am using 11.04), and it works as well as Microsoft 7 on these computers.

Your battery is out, and the adapter for these Aspire Ones are pretty flimsy. You might just have a short in the wire of the adapter.

Get a USB Flash Drive, install Linux Mint 15, boot and install on the Acer Aspire One. You will be happy with the change!
