is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info

check the switches inside the panel where water and ice come out. that front panel comes off. this happened to me those switches are mounted on plastic mine broke and I used zip ties to put them back in place. The switches were just dangling there.

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya:
Providing that you have the new filter your old filter may be located in the refrigerator compartment at the right side towards the top or it may be located at the bottom at the front towards the left side this filter simply unscrews about 3/4 of a turn without pulling on it then it will come off after the initial 3/4 turn is done this may take just a bit of pulling now then simply place the new one back in and turn it clockwise to tighten it the 3/4 turn ok. not too hard

After removing everything from the inside you will want to lay it on it's side and not the back.
To decide what side you want to say it on you will need to look at the compressor. You may need to remove the back access panel to see the compressor.
What you want to do is lay it on the side so the two copper lines that come out of the compressor are pointed up. This will help keep the oil that is in the compressor from running out into the lines.
I would also leave it stand upright after you get there for 24 hours before you plug it in to make sure all the oil is back to the bottom of the compressor like it should be.

Ok first if you have located where your filter is (normaly located in the upper part of the fridge section or on the lower kickpanel on the right next to the floor
If you have you new filter then all you have to do is to slowly turn the old filter to the left do not pull
down on the filter or out on the filter till it stops moving normally about 3/4 of a turn then it will simply pull off or out then place the new one in the slot and turn it to the right till it stops now the filter is changed .
now get a small pitcher and go to the ice /water dispencer and get about 2 or 3 pitchers of water from it to ensure that the air is out of the system and you are now done

There are several things that can prevent and icemaker from working.
1- Temp in freezer. If the temp in the freezer is higher than 6 degrees the ice makers thermistat will not call for water.
2- Water inlet valve. If the inlet valve is malfunctioning the silinoid may not be opening. Even if you are getting water through the door.
3- Faulty ice maker. If the internal components of the ice maker are no longer functioning it wont make ice.

To test the inlet valve. In the back of the fridge is and access panel near the bottom remove this panel and look at the inlet valve. now you should see 3 hoses. One is usually copper and runs directly from the house water supply. There will be two other hoses from the inlet. One leads into the fridge for the water in door feature. The other is for the icemaker. Switch the two hoses from the ice maker ( water in door and icemaker) than push the water in door feature and see if the water goes into icemaker. If it does not than replace inlet. If does and temp in freezer is below 6 degrees replace icemaker.

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? it overflows into the ref.

Check water valve at back Its where the water line attaches to it.
Check water pressure
Pour a cup of water in the ice maker, if it ejects ice later then that
valve is probably defective
If it doesnt then the icemaker is defective
Also check temp of freezer should be below 10 degrees

Manually turning the defrost timer will not tell you if the timer is working, it only tells you the switching inside works, The defrost timer has a motor inside that turns it through it's cycles, this would be the part of the defrost timer that stops working.

But since the unit is freezing and thawing, The problem is more likely the defrost thermostat has came loose or is defective.

Sounds like it is cycling on defrost mode too often.... you may have to replace the defrost timer
