Hi I am working on
Hi, you can download a manual here:
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AI7&fMTYPE=Socket 478&pPRODINFO=Manual
The fault could be the cpu, wrong type of ram, a faulty ram module
or a fault in the mainboard.
Check all the settings in the manual and the bios aswell.
Here is a list of beep codes:
Basic Beep Codes for ABIT AWARD BIOS Motherboards
- No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
- One beep - board is working fine
- One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
- 1 short(Beep) System booting is normally
- 2 short(Beep) CMOS setting error
- 1 long - 1 short(Beep) DRAM ERROR
- 1 long - 2 short(Beep) Display card or monitor connected error
- 1 long - 3 short(Beep) Keyboard Error
- 1 long - 9 short(Beep) ROM Error
- Long(Beep) continuous DRAM isn't inserted correctly
- Short(Beep) continuous POWER supply has a problem
- A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages
- Four beeps then machine shuts down. This is because this version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on the fan header. Make sure you attach a fan to the FAN1 or FAN4 header or clear CMOS to reset to default (no checking).

(((appropriate speakers)))
also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct
settings there
:also
click start control panel
sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box

click start control panel
sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker
volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place
icon in taskbar:

My computer stopped working suddently.
Try checking your power supply or swapping it with one from another computer. See if the low siren noise is coming out of the power supply or off the motherboard. That noise is usually a bad capacitor on the circuit. If it is on the motherboard you would need to replace it.
Let me know what you find, Thanks for using FixYa

What is post code AF
Code AF usually refers to memory especially if it comes with a long beep instead of the normal quick beep.
If you have recently added memory remove the new stick and reboot. If all is well then the new stick is not compatible with the old one or with the motherboard.
If no memory has been added recently then try removing your memory stick and re-inserting it, it may not be seated firmly in place or, if you have more than one
stick, fit them one at a time to rule out any compatibility problems, or
errors with one or other of them.
Another thing that will throw a code AF is the processor, make sure the processor is firmly seated under the cooling fan and that there is the proper amount of cool seal between the fan and the top of the processor. BE VERY CAREFULL when working near the processor as a static discharge can and will destroy the processor and don't bend any of the pins on the processor base. If not familiar with working with a processor DON'T. Take it to someone who is.

Two tone Siren from MoBo/over heating CPU
at first go to the bios. then default the bios setting. then check the system monitor. if the cpu is too hot you can see it. or you can change the processor. never over clock the processor.

How to connect 2 cd-roms to motheroard
If they use the wide ribbon cable, you need the cables with two connectors. Then set on drive to master and one to slave, or set both to CS - for cable select. When you restart the computer, the OS will do the rest.
