Packard Bell 6 Continous Beeps
The most likely problem is a problem with the voltage regulators not producing the correct voltages to the power good signal to let the computer turn on.You should check all the connectors from the power supply to the components in your computer to make sure they are all on correctly and fit tight making a good connection. Check to see if the memory is properly seated in the memory slots.Check and see if the processor heatsink and fan assembly are properly seated and the fan is working properly.Check the operation of the power supply see if the fan works properly, when turned on. Make sure it is not clogged with dust and dirt.Try using compressed air to clean off the dust and dirt that may have accumulated on the motherboard and other components. Try cleaning the memory slots with a small brush and a small amount of contact cleaner.Check the other heatsinks on the motherboard and make sure they are on properly and have good themal connection to the top the their processors. You may have to remove the main heatsink and fan assembly and check the processor and reapply the themal grease to make sure it is getting the proper thermal contact with heatsink. Take the processor out of the socket and make sure no dust and dirt has contaminated the connection points between the processor and the socket. Check the processor for bent pins and also check the socket for possible damage. If all this fails to resolve the slow intermittent start-up of the computer, change the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.Check all the connections between the motherboard and the computer case. Make sure they are not shorting out something to the case. Make sure they all are in tight and making good connection with the standoffs.Try disconnecting all the components of you computer except the power supply, one stick of memory and the harddrive. and see if the computer starts up properly. If it does start up then put back the components one by one until the problem reappears and you will have found the bad component and you can replace it.If not try replacing the memory sticks one at a time, and see if the computer starts normally. If all this fails, you have to try changing the power supply and see if the computer starts -up normally. If not you will hve to change the main processor and see if solves the problem. If this does not work, you have a motherboard problem and will need to go to the manufacturers website and check the frequently asked questions and troubleshooting sections and see if this is a known problem with you model of motherboard and see if a solution has been posted. If not you have a bad mother board and need to have it replaced. Remember to always wear anti static wrist bands and anti static gloves when handling the processor and memory sticks. You should also wear them if you have to work on the motherboard around any of the other processors. If all this seems over you head, call the customer service support for you computer and ask them where you can sent or take the unit for testing and service. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
I JUST NEED TO KNOW
motherboard has user manual try to read it again, if you do not have manual then use a magnifying glass look for word abbreviated: Pwr- power switch, Re-re-set power, Hd- hard drive etc.. this is where you connect the wire, LED light etc.
Hi
I Have an abit
Bad or loose connection to condenser fan faulty intergrated circuit (board) or control board triac. Apparently this one is activated by the board with a triac that checks to see if everything is all propah before firing up that fan. This is just a guess I have not a clue.

8.3. 9.0. 4.0. post codes when attempting to boot
code 8.3: 12V 4 pin plug disconnected or power supply damage. Check connection /test PSU
code 9.0: OC too high (possible bios damage) clear CMOS as 1st resort
Not sure about 4.0 but 0.4 indicates memory module failure.
Have you overclocked the board? The codes would indicate you went a bit over the top if you did. I'd clear the cmos and check the PSU and reseat the ram and start from the vanilla settings, hopefully the bios chip is not blown
I want to download the drivers, but its not with
You can't download the drivers without the internet unless Abit kindly agree to giving you a cabled connection to their servers!
Also if you have no internet it begs the question how you posted your problem? If you used a public computer or a friends then go back with a USB flash drive and d/load the drivers onto that and take it home.
BEEPING SOUNDS LIKE SIRES FROM EUROPEAN POLICE CARS
Hi there.
Usually when the motherboard beeps there is a problem with some hardware or in most cases its the system memory that's at fault.
Get yourself a clean, soft, dry paintbrush, take the system memory out of the slots, clean the brass contacts on the memory sticks and also clean away any dust that may have built up on the slots that the memory goes into, after that blow any residual dust away and reseat the memory making sure its in nice and tight, then try to power up the computer.
Please post back with the results and if it still doesn't work please count the beeps and post back whether they are long or short.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
Hello. I'm portuguese and i have an abit fatality
Hi,
This seems to be a common problem with this board. That error could mean any number of things from a loose cable to a fried chip. Flashing bios will not get rid of the problem.
Take a look at this article.

Good luck,

How to connect 2 cd-roms to motheroard
If they use the wide ribbon cable, you need the cables with two connectors. Then set on drive to master and one to slave, or set both to CS - for cable select. When you restart the computer, the OS will do the rest.
