Try baking soda mixed with vinegar. If it still persist try with potassium per-magnate mild solution. Word of caution test first on little surface to see it does not affect the fridge lining.

Freezer works but bottom part doesn't keep foods

then you would have a defrost problem remove the rear panel and you will most likely find a bunch of ice defrost this with a hair dryer then assure that your fan is working if not replace the fan if it is then you would do a continuity test on both the tstat and the heater if either of these were not to show continuity that would be the one that you would have to replace if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation when we are done Thanks again

Kenmore refrigerator keeps running. We have tried

Sounds like a sealed system issue.

If the appliance is more than 3 years old OR it was repaired in the last 6 months, it may be a leak on the sealed system, so there is not enough refrigerant and it can't reach the adequate temperature.

You can try this:

1. Clean the back coils. remove all dust. (perhaps the coils are at the bottom).

2. Use a fan and blow some air at the coils. Check if temperature lowers. If so, perhaps the evaporator fan is broken.

3. The sides of the appliance are hot? Any recent service? Perhaps the technician forgot to connect a wire.

4. Unplug the appliance and wait about 10 minutes, then plug it back to the voltage. Check if the problem continues.

5. Where is the location of the appliance? Next to the range? In the garage? If the fridge is located on a hot place, it will not cool down properly.

If everything of above looks ok, then you may need to contact a technician. Check the warranty information in the user manual. Some appliances have a good warranty coverage.

If appliance is more than 5 years old, it may not be a good idea to repair if sealed system or compressor is broken. It will be quite expensive and repairs will not last long.

Good luck.

Freezer getting tomuch ice, fridge doesnot gets

The problem you describe is very frequent. The fridge is getting the coldness from the freezer through a chant and the force of a motor fan Motor evaporator

Number: 173301 Substitution: 5300158289 part no. 26. So the build up of ice in the freezer is blocking the air pass thought and get the fridge cold. Also it may block the fan motor blades from rotating.

So the first you need to check is the heating element on the evaporator in the freezer department. This element might have burn out (and now is open circuit) and even f the defrost timer give instruction for start heating up the element is bad so the defrost is not performed. You just need to replace the heating element. Heater

My unit makes periodic noise

Hi,

Often the thumping or bumping noise is caused by the compressor base either breaking or coming loose....
Pull out the fridge and get behond there and make sure it is not just loose bolts on the compressor base....
If that is all it is then you can just tighten them.
If the base is broken then the fix is to replace the compressor which can get very expensive...

Whenever the compressor starts and stops the torque of the compressor will throw the can around and cause the noise...

GE refrigerator Model TBX18SASGLAD freezer

Hi,

The defrosting of the freezer is control by either a defrost timer or the main control board... or you unit I think it is the control board....
The heater is an electric element on some and an infra red bulb on others...

So, you could have a bad heater or a bad control board....the best thing to do is catch it in defrost mode and then check for voltage at the heater...or if you are comfortable with electric just jumper the heater and see if it works....

Check out these tips...they can help you figure out what is going wrong with your refrigerator and why it is not cooling

Light is on, but the unit will not operate. I

Your description of the problem means that the current is reaching the fridge but thats all. Either the wiring is faulty or the compressor is disconnected. Either way, you have to call the help as such matters are best handled by them.
Also there is a rotatory switch that controls the temp (the rheostat). If you turn it anti clock wise then it can also switch off the fridge. The lights will come on but the compressor will not run. Just like you have now. So please check this rheostat.
