Leaks water inside from the ports or vents under
Your problem more than likely is a plugged defrost line in the freezer...The freezer goes through periodic defrost cyles to keep the coils from freezing up. The water catches in a trough pan in the freezer and flows through a drain hole to the bottom of the fridge where it evaporates. This drain hole perodically freezes up and the water accomulates under the freezer bottom until the water level reaches your vent ports to the fridge section. Open your freezer and on the bottom floor of your freezer you should see two screws near the front on either side. Remove them and then take out the bottom tray....this will expose the drain hole near the rear of the freezer compartment. You will more than likely have to remove ice under the tray in order to see the drain hole. Remove the lower back panel on the back of the refrigerator and you should be able to see the drain line coming from the freezer. Unplug the refrigerator before you begin work. It will take a little while for the drain line to thaw to allow liquid to flow to the bottom. I find a hair dryer pretty handy in speeding up the process. To verify you have unplugged the drain line you should be able to pour hot water in the drain hole in the freezer and see it come out at the rear of the fridge in tube line just above a little catch pan
I've had this problem for a week now.
The
Sanford,
How old is the unit. If very old then the beading around the fridge door may have gone and started leaking. If so, then the frodge will not cool to the desired temperature. If so, then the beeding needs to be changed. Mostly they are press fitted and can be pulled apart.
If not so, then the thermostat of the fridge may be the culprit. It needs a replacement. Please remove it from the body and replace it with exactly the same/similar piece.
When I open bottom or top fridge doors they swing
Hi,
The fridge needs to be leveled better...
When the doors swing open then gravity takes over and pulls the doors open the rest of the way...
to fix this adjust the legs of the fridge so that it leans just a bit away from the hinge side and back just a bit...then the doors will swing closed by themselves...
The back legs may have to be shimmed and the front leg adjustments are usually right behind the front cover at the floor...sometimes there are screws there to adjust the back legs from the front also...

Water is collecting at the bottom of the
You may have a bad gasket, which is allowing moisture laden air to be sucked into the refrigerator. The moisture then condenses on the walls / shelving, and finds its way to the bottom.
Water inside on shelves can not determine where
A temporary solution is to remove all frozen food, ice tray, shelf and bottom plate. you will see the water drain trench and a drain hole in the back center of the freezer. Unplug the drain, free it from ice or debris and flush with hot water. I have the same problem with my frig. This is not a permeant fix, but it will stop water from dripping through the vent ports The defroster may be defective or the air flow is too restricted. Good luck.
Every time the refrigerator door is closed, the
My
new freezer did the same thing. I contacted the company and they went
into the whole leveling thing. What it has to do with is the magnetic
seal. The magnets are not strong enough to keep the freezer door from
popping open when closing the big fridge
door. They share the same duct. I level my doors on the fridge and
freezer so they swing shut by themselves after opening. Just the force
of the big door when it swung closed cracked open the freezer door about
a quarter of an inch and if left unnoticed created a puddle and made
the fridge run overtime. I solved the problem by placing strong magnets
inside the fold of the magnetic seal at the handle end of the door. This
is the flap on the outside the door seal. I used six magnets on the top
and six on the bottom. The magnets were from discarded Sonicare tooth
brush heads. They are very flat and super strong. You can find something
on ebay. My freezer door doesn't budge problem solved. I did call the
company and told them I solved the problem and they still insisted it
was the leveling. Good luck, Art Knapp
Kenmore refrigerator keeps running. We have tried
Sounds like a sealed system issue.
If the appliance is more than 3 years old OR it was repaired in the last 6 months, it may be a leak on the sealed system, so there is not enough refrigerant and it can't reach the adequate temperature.
You can try this:
1. Clean the back coils. remove all dust. (perhaps the coils are at the bottom).
2. Use a fan and blow some air at the coils. Check if temperature lowers. If so, perhaps the evaporator fan is broken.
3. The sides of the appliance are hot? Any recent service? Perhaps the technician forgot to connect a wire.
4. Unplug the appliance and wait about 10 minutes, then plug it back to the voltage. Check if the problem continues.
5. Where is the location of the appliance? Next to the range? In the garage? If the fridge is located on a hot place, it will not cool down properly.
If everything of above looks ok, then you may need to contact a technician. Check the warranty information in the user manual. Some appliances have a good warranty coverage.
If appliance is more than 5 years old, it may not be a good idea to repair if sealed system or compressor is broken. It will be quite expensive and repairs will not last long.
Good luck.
Water is freezing over the freezer coils and
The evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.
Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the inside of the freezer at the bottom of the rear cover.
Ice maker will not work. No water flows into ice
If the problem is only that you don't have any flow of water in ice maker then you should check the water solenoid, the water filter if its cogged or water container if it is frozen,
In any case the Ice maker is abot $140
