Kenmore 62702 Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
I Bought An Old Kenmore
One quick way would be to look on the top of the unit. Do you see empty screw holes where the screws going through the cabinet above it will go through and screw into the top of that unit? If no open screw holes on top of unit probably not an over the range model. Also, look under the bottom of the machine. do you see feet??? Or just aluminum screen vent filters. If feet and no filters probably a counter top unit.
Removing unit
To remove, you will need to remove four bolts on the top of the unit.
Unplug it first, then remove the two bolts nearest the wall first. It would help to place something under the front of the unit about two inches shorter, to catch the unit as you remove the front bolts. The bolts are long, so be prepared for a lot of turns. A ratchet helps. The unit will lower in the front as you remove the last bolt. There is a bracket screwed to the wall behind the unit, with a lip at the bottom that holds the back of the unit. After the front has lowered, lift the back up about an inch, and pull the whole unit away from the wall. Remember to pull the power cord out of the cabinet before moving the unit away. Hope this helps.
Kenmore microwave model 721 loose door
Loose bottom hinge - slide the microwave to the edge of the counter, and look at the bottom hinge - you may have to remove something to see clearly. Its likely you are missing a screw or the screws have worked themselves loose.
Not heating making loud noise
Check inside the oven chamber and look for missing powder paint or signs of arcing, if so there is a paint to repair microwaves for this issue or else just dispose of the microwave. If the inside is good remove all the screws and remove the cover. If the magnetron was making louder noises prior then replace the magnetron. the giant capacitor could be bad. While the cabinet is open make sure to look for burned wires, check the continuity of thermal cutoffs, and check the main circuit-board for burned traces or components. The relays in most electronics are known for arcing (spot welding) and staying in the wrong position. Tap them hard with the back end of a screwdriver. During all of this use safe electrical practices by having the power cord unplugged. The capacitor could still have a high charge on it so be careful.
No help from Sears!
door indicator is the microwaves way of telling you the door isnt closed. does it run at all if it doesnt its probably a door switch. theyre there as a fail safe because your microwave shouldnt run with the door open

i think your bulb fused because you change it without unpluging and the current\directly hit the filament.you should buy new one and try it again and remenber that you shoul unplug it first.
Microwave 665-63799305. Still cooks,
There are 3 ribbon wire connections on the display control panel. You will have to open the unit to access the display control. I must tell you that there is VERY HIGH VOLTAGE in the microwave even if the unit is unplugged. So if you attempt to make the repair be VERY CAREFUL. I cannot stress this enough. IF you should find that the display panel connections are good, then you will need to replace it.
Here is a link to the part you may need. The price of the part with shipping will be just over $241.00 and you may want to look into getting a new unit.

Kenmore microwave: everything works
Hello thee and welcome to fixya
Whenever you are experiencing this problem the 2 areas that are the most likly to fail is .
mengatron looks like this
or it can look like this
itis needs to be tested for continuity and if found to have fairly high continuity it needs to be replaced
and the last thing that may cause this problem is the high power inverter this can nly be tested by a qualified appliance parts dealer due to the extreemly high electricty in the capacitors thata are part of this circuit ok so you can have it tested out but depending on how much you have invested in this it may be more cost efficient to just replace the oven unless you have the warranty and it is still good ok?
Hope this is very helpful for you if you need any more help with testing parts i can help
Best regards Mike
Where is the fuse in
The fuse is located under the keypad in towards the high voltage capacitor "silver rectangular in shape" before you take it apart "unplug and discharge capacitor" there are dangerous high voltages present, the fuse is a ceramic type and must be replaced with the identical size and rating. Now if the fuse blows again it is more than likely one of the door switches is defective.
My microwave oven is not heating. It will run
It sounds like the magnetron may have
either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high
voltage required to run it.
YOUR
SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
This is a job for a professional but if
you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the
!!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any
sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the
high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on
high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the
fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse
on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the
magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.
Microwave oven kenmore 401.80086700 need to know
If this an over the range microwave, there should be a couple screws on the door side of the control panel that you remove and the control panel will drop down so you can access the inside of the microwave.
My microwave stop heating
The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts, then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.
Let me know how this works out for you.
