My microwave stop heating

The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts, then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Cooktop light doesnt work

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.

Details of our service are at our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly with your brand, full model number and symptoms.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

My screen went blank and i have to power?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If it is the screen that has gone bad it can be due to the fuse that has gone bad and/or the control panel that needs to be checked. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved else post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Micro does not heat

Without your model number, I'd have to assume that it's a Whirlpool -made Kenmore. If so, then F6 means the cook relay is failing on the control circuit board.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

Also at our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Won't work

The first thing you need to do is read on how to discharge the high voltage capacitor to avoid injury or death, after you have done that you will be able to start chcking inside the unit.
Step 1, Remove the cover of the unit, being careful not to touch any of the components inside.
Step 2, Once the cover has been removed you need to discharge the high voltage capacitor to avoid severe injury or death. Once you have done this you can now start to find the source of the problem.
Step 3, The most common fault with microwaves doing eveything but heating is caused by the high voltage fuse becoming faulty and/or the magnatron assembly. To test the high voltage fuse you need to remove it from the high voltage capacitor and the transformer, a large metal block looking thing, and simply undo the plastic casing that the fuse is within, you should be able to see if it has blown as the fuse will be black inside the glass or the small wire will be visably broken.
Step 4, All you need to do now is source a high voltage fuse from an elctronics dealer or the authorised repair agent making sure its the correct voltage and amp rating, they normally come in 750mA and 5kV, that is, 750 milliamps and 5 kilo volts. Once you have the fuse simply replace the blown fuse with the good one and test the unit by heating up a mug of water.
Step 5, If everything ran and tested ok you can now replace the cover and continue using the unit, if you found it still isnt heating you need to replace the magnatron assembly, remember to unplug the unit and discharge the high voltage capacitor before touching anything inside the microwave, you can find the magnatron assembly, normally above the transformer, it is a cube shape with grills on the side and also contains some high powered magnets, so if you find your screw drivers being pulled towards a large cube shabed box, chances are you have found the magnatron assembly. Replace this and all your problms should be solved as far as not heating.
Good luck.

I have a kenmore over range model 67600 and it

Hi,
It indicates that you have a failed EOC (Electronic Oven Control board also called a clock assembly). This part (number 316207511) need to be replaced.
This type of failure can also be caused by wiring connection problems or failed heating elements, It is more likely that a failed EOC is preventing the oven and broil elements from heating. I recommend calling a service technician to check the wiring and replace the part .

Hope this helps .

How do you mount this model

There are two bolts through the bottom of the upper cabinet that attach to the top of the microwave. These support the front of the microwave. There is a wall plate attached to the wall studs that supports the back. If removing the microwave, take care when removing the front support bolts, as the microwave will fall if not supported when these are removed. There are instructions available at www.sears.com under parts direct. Your model number will be a longer number than you have here it will look like this 000.00000.

could of blown a fuse or lost the magnetron, here is a web site that lists the parts for microwaves, however yur model did not show up but they have a 800 you can call and they can get you to the right company. you may have magnetron bad but it could be as simple as the door switch. Since you did not state if it had lights or power at all it is difficult for me to help you. here is the web site and use the 800 Number to get a breakdown of the system to help you figure it out

Kenmore microwave model 66569619992

The first three digits of your model number are 665, which means it was made by Whirlpool.

On a Whirlpool, F6 means a fault on the control board, such as a timing error or a shorted relay.

A shorted relay could mean it is running when it shouldn't. Pleased don't allow it to do that for more than a few seconds, or other serious damage could occur.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

If it still fails, please leave it unplugged, and I would say you have a problem on your control panel assembly, which we repair for customers nationwide with our $39.95 service.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

It may be the motor or the coupler or support.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

Model # 40180082 no heat

The magnetron may be OK, it could be as simple as a failed fuse or a high voltage diode or bridge.
Open the unit and if you have even a primitive multimeter you can check the diode and fuse: the diode will measure close to 0 Ohms, the fuse (remove from holder) will measure open, if bad.
The fuse will have a high amperage rating somewhere from 10-20 amperes; call appliance service companies or big hardware stores to find this. Buy two, so if one blows, you have a second on hand to use after possibly replacing the diode.
The diode may be tougher since a device with the necessary ratings of hundreds of volts and a dozen or so amperes aren't used in many devices.
Good luck-

When putting something in the oven sparks and

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck to the inside of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover is usually held in place by a plastic rivet.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart or Lowe's.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced.

I will need your brand and full model number from the tag in or on the unit to help you further.

Kenmore 363.62709200 turns on and spins, but

The most common problem it seems on the microwave is it is working but no heat. That indicates a problem in the power circuit. 90% of the time your capacitor and its associated component the HV diode need replacement. Once replaced, retry. If still not heating, changing the magnetron will be needed. The only way to be sure is if you are offe with testing equipment to know which of the two to replace.

Micro wave won't heat

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

Kenmore microwave does not heat anymore.

Assuming your inside light, turntable, and internal cooling fan all come on when you try to microwave, with the symptoms you have, I would most strongly suspect a shorted high voltage rectifier diode or a bad magnetron.

The diode is a fairly cheap fix, and the mag will cost more.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
