i think your bulb fused because you change it without unpluging and the current\directly hit the filament.you should buy new one and try it again and remenber that you shoul unplug it first.

Whenever you are experiencing this problem the 2 areas that are the most likly to fail is .
mengatron looks like this or it can look like this
itis needs to be tested for continuity and if found to have fairly high continuity it needs to be replaced
and the last thing that may cause this problem is the high power inverter this can nly be tested by a qualified appliance parts dealer due to the extreemly high electricty in the capacitors thata are part of this circuit ok so you can have it tested out but depending on how much you have invested in this it may be more cost efficient to just replace the oven unless you have the warranty and it is still good ok?

There are 3 ribbon wire connections on the display control panel. You will have to open the unit to access the display control. I must tell you that there is VERY HIGH VOLTAGE in the microwave even if the unit is unplugged. So if you attempt to make the repair be VERY CAREFUL. I cannot stress this enough. IF you should find that the display panel connections are good, then you will need to replace it. Here is a link to the part you may need. The price of the part with shipping will be just over $241.00 and you may want to look into getting a new unit.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Your biggest suspects will be a bad connection or relay on the control panel, a bad connection on the magnetron terminals, a bad magnetron, a shorted high voltage rectifier diode or a bad high voltage transformer.

You can find exploded views and part numbers by entering your model number at the Sears parts site.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

You may be able to find better part prices than Sears here.

Your magnetron may have a 5-9 year warranty, so check your manual for that. Sears may send you a magnetron if it's bad and warranty.

The fuse is located under the keypad in towards the high voltage capacitor "silver rectangular in shape" before you take it apart "unplug and discharge capacitor" there are dangerous high voltages present, the fuse is a ceramic type and must be replaced with the identical size and rating. Now if the fuse blows again it is more than likely one of the door switches is defective.

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.

It appears your door lock mechanism has failed in this instance.

First - unplug the unit for 40 minutes and re-try.
