The display screen has gone blank on my

The main displays are not fused, sorry, Also the display itself is not wired to the baord. It is either soldered on or has a conductive rubber pad under it to bring power to the crystal. Get your model number and either call sears or another parts company for a price and availability on the main circuit board.

Kenmore elite microwave 721.80833 stops cooking intermittently

Check the door switches if one is bad it may think the door is being opened and stop the unit from running. If it is from a bad connection it will get worse as it gets hotter while running.

My microwave keypad wont work the light is on and the reading says please touch clock and set time of dry

SEE THIS CAUSES AND FIX IT. God bless youTouchpad and Control Panel If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad and control panel assembly are probably defective. Touchpad If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad. ser Control and Display Board If the microwave buttons don't work the main control board is most likely defective and will need to be replaced. I have a TE Error

The cause of the TE error for us was grease/gunk on some exposed pins and flex connectors (communication bus between controller and keypad) that was interfering with communication with the keypad. Resolution to TE error: Remove the keypad / control board from the microwave. There are three screws on the bottom at the front to remove. Once those are removed, the keypad is held on by clips. Slide the entire keypad to the left and it will come loose. After it is loose, carefully remove all the wired connectors to the microwave. Lay the keypad face down on the counter and look at the control board. The control board is actually seperate from the keypad and connected via two thin flex strips with many small contacts (like a nintendo game connector) . Our flex strips were covered in grease from the hood fan operation. Carefully clean the strip and the connector (with a felt pen if you have one) and resassemble. This resolved the issue for us.

We have had a Kenmore

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Use the power level button; Touch this pad after the cook time has been set, followed by a Number Pad to set the amount of microwave energy released to cook the food. The higher the number, the higher the microwave power or "cooking speed." Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Need to replace fuse in

If everything works, but the microwave oven does not heat, this is commonly caused by a failed magnetron and NOT a fuse. The magnetron is the heart of the microwave oven and it produces the RF energy that is used to heat your food. In order to replace a defective magnetron, you will need to consider the following:

1. You will need to uninstall the oven from over the range in order to replace the part (you will need to do this anyway, if you decide to buy a replacement oven).

2. Ensure the oven is UNPLUGGED before servicing anything inside the cabinet and remove the exterior case in order to access the magnetron. There are several websites that you can use that illustrate how the oven is assembled:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com appliancepartspros.com Repairclinic.com is another site that is a great parts resource, but usually doesn't have a well defined component breakdown illustration.
NOTE: If you've never repaired an appliance on your own before, a microwave oven is usually not a recommended appliance to start with. Some models can be rather involved in taking apart.

3. The magnetron replacement cost will depend upon the model number, but generally costs around $100.
4. Some model microwave ovens have a thermal cut-out (TCO) associated with the magentron circuit, and/or oven cavity. If these small thermostats trip, they usually shut-down the entire oven. The lights would not work and the carousel would not turn. You will need to remove the thermostat from the oven (if equipped) and take a resistance check across the component terminals to determine if it is good or not. A low resistance reading indicates a good thermostat. An infinite reading, indicates a blown thermostat and needs to be replaced. The average replacement cost is about $10. I would recommend you check any fuses associated with the oven before assuming the magnetron has failed.
Review the parts illustrations at the recommended websites to identify and locate parts, and to see if this is something that you may be able easily take apart and reassemble.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

CAUTION: DO NOT operate a microwave oven with the exterior cover off. The voltage inside the High Voltage network where the magnetron is installed can exceed 3,000 volts!

Buttons do not work to

The most likely problem is with the control panel - it is faulty. Check with the manufacturer to see if your microwave is still under warranty. Kenmore recommends taking the device to an authorized service center for the repair, because microwaves can be dangerous to disassemble.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

If it still doesn't work, it may be a controller issue which can be repaired.
