Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS01DJ
Rinse only light
Ok, Turn breaker off at breaker panel. Just off then on. The rinse only light should be on.....not flashing. Now press the start button first and hold; then press the cancel button. That should cancel all lights. Then press wash button then start. If the light is still flashing after you turn off breaker....you might have a bigger problem. May need new control panel.

Clean light flashes on my KitchenAid KUDS01DJ
My dishwasher did the same thing.
The repair guy fixed it and told us how to reset next time it happens:
press:
Hi temp then
Energy saver then
Hi Temp then
Energy saver
do this quickly over 5 seconds
all the lights should come on
Then, turn off the breaker for one minute
then, go back to the dishwasher and press cancel. All the lights should turn off.
Start dishwasher as usual. If the cause was just a brain fart, the dishwasher should work.

I have a Kitchen aid
You have to touch certain of the front panel touchbuttons in a certain pre-specified order. This sequence will cause the built in computer to initiate a "Diagnostic Mode", the repairman will step quickly through all the cycles at 1-2 minute intervals so that he doesn't waist his time. At the end of the diagnostic steps the computer will revert back to normal mode. You will need the "controls and cycles diagnostic sheet for repairman" map-sheet to be able to do the above, this sheet was with the machine when you first bought it.
I suspect the computer in your machine is stuck in the "Diagnostic mode" and is not getting out of it.

Kitchenaid kuds01dj dishwasher
In the bottom of the wash tub there is a float that trips the fill solenoid on and off. More often than not food particles manage to build up on the stem of the float assy and cause the symptom you describe.
Other possibilities are the water valve itself and the opening of the supply line (usually at the faucet shut off) that can be clogged with rust from plumbing in the home.
Lastly if there is an internal failure of the timer it can also cause this.
You can remove the lower kick panel to gain access to the water valve. Remove power long enough to disconnect the 2 water valve solenoid wires and check for voltage when the unit should be filling. If you have voltage re-connect the solenoid.
After checking the solenoid toward the front of the unit on locate the float switch assy. It will be a micro-switch with 2 wires on it. Move the float GENTLY up and down. This switch should click as the float nears the top of its' travel and again just as you begin lowering the float. No click = no fill.
Remember to reinstall the kick panel when work is complete.
Just be careful when dealing with live circuits.
Thanks for using FixYa!

Water keeps filling even if dishwater is off
Your dishwasher water fill valve is defective. Remove power from the DW. Remove the bottom toe kick panel. The water valve has the incoming water line connected to it.Remove the wires from the valve. If the water stops entering you have a bad timer. If it makes no difference you have a bad valve. The valve is a replaceable part. The timer is a replaceable part.

Dishwasher not getting water
Check voltage at fill valve, If you have 110v check to make sure you have water at valve. If you have water, replace valve, if no water check plumbing.

Dishwasher leaking on florr
Hi.
It could be:
a dirty door seal
a clogged pipe on the pressure sensor causing it to overfill
a genuine leaking hose
Much depends on where it is leaking from. The door seals can be cleaned with a detergent laden cloth, hard grime removed with a plastic scouring pad or a blunt knife (with care)
A clogged sensor pipe needs to be removed and cleaned out - access will most likely be from beneath. While you are there you can check the hoses for leaks too!
As a starting point I would put a kettle or two of very hot water and a generous dose of detergent into the machine and try to let it clean itself. While it is doing that try to spot where the leak is. There may not be one if it was overfilling.
I hope this helps.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills. If they do not, please add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D
