KitchenAid 24 in. KUDS01FLBL Built-in Dishwasher - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Squeaky door
On our KitchenAid dishwasher we had the same problem--a REALLY loud squeak as it opened. The sound comes from the nylon rope slipping along the plastic pulleys. We've had the DW for about 3 years and the noise has gotten worse over time. I was determined to win the war against the noise and am happy to say I fixed it today.
The trick is to use a dry lubricant on the cord and on the pulleys. I used Dry Graphite by Gunk. It comes in an aerosol spray can and once the stuff dried the squeak was gone. I'll let you know if it comes back...

Water will not come out top agitator on my kitcheaid dishwasher
You need to take out the bottom rack of the dishwasher and disassemble the lower spin arm and filters underneath it. You need to get right down to the chopper blade and disassemble and clean out the chopper blade assembly. Make sure there is nothing buried in the little holes. Once done and you are sure it is clean. Reassemble it all. It should work fine. Having said that.......It will happen again in a few washes until you replace the whole chopper blade assembly.
Kickplate on model KUDG25SH
turn off breaker to it leave one minute and turn back on also make sure door is closed tight and nothing is fouling it from proper closing .
Power
Check thermal fuse on control board
Dishwasher Reset / Diagnostics
Unscrew and remove the kickplate at the very bottom of the dishwasher. The tech sheet with the diagnostic code should be attached to the back of it. If not, due a websearch and you should be able to find the info on yahoo or google.

Dishwasher won't run. Normal light and cancel light flashing cont
Hi,
The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched. The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.
If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate. It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.
Thank you !!
My door opens fast. It has no tension
Hello, welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description, I'd say there is either one or both of the door link kits/springs broken. It's an easy enough repair, though the unit does need to be pulled out, slightly.
First, slide the entire unit out from the cabinet a couple or three inches and you`ll see the plastic roller assembly and rope ( except yours is likely broke...at least one by the sounds of your description ) attached to the side.
**You`ll need to insure your connections will allow you to pull the unit out however, otherwise they - water, power, drain hose - must be disconnected to prevent any damage.**
If you have any reservation to performing this repair on your own please call in a qualified appliance technician.
The parts ( # 1059756 @ repairclinic ) come in a kit as I alluded to and will look like what I attached below...
These are available at most brick & mortar appliance part locations or on-line vendors such as "repairclinic.com" "searspartsdirect.com" to name a couple.
They range in price for around $20, or you can just purchase the rope/link seperately for about $4 part # 1159210 @ repairclinic.
I recommend replacing the entire kit and checking the spring itself, if it looks ok and not stretched or broke it is likely ok...they are seperate from the kit ( # 830967 door spring @ repairclinic as well )
Hope that helps move you forward. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today. Please take a moment and rate the solution provided here or a testimonial if you feel warranted.
Let me know if you require further assistance and good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
My kitchenaid dishwasher won't stay shut. It pops
Check that there isn't something still in the very back of the rack (top or bottom) that's sticking out and keeping the rack from sliding all the way in. Similarly, if the problem goes away when you take the racks out, the problem is with the racks. Otherwise, it's the latch: either the eye (attached to the top of the machine) is bent/broken, or the hook (inside the top of the door) is broken. Good luck.

Will not cycle. clean light flashing 7 times and
Hi
If clean light
is blinking 7 times then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or
wash pump. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5
minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a
water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence--
Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air
Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry.
Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button
and allow it to completely drain and reset.
If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the
water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make
sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently.
You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read
between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine
then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope
this helps... Please post back for further assistance.
Daniel
