I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator Model Number: KBFC42FTS. Bottom drawer freezer over cools -10 degrees.

Does that unit have a low temperature monitor built in? Maybe that is what is making the noise when your temps dip to -10 degrees. Actually, that is great because the lower the temps the longer you can keep food in the freezer so I would not be overly concerned about that aspect. BTW, have you tried to isolate the source of the humming noise?

have your thermostat setting in the right setting otherwise it will happen again and again. have someone to check it like authorize repair shop or technician

Why does the freezer not defrost properly? Can the thermostat be faulty even if it has continuity when cold? Can the thermistor be at fault? What else should I test for?

If the defrost timer is not working properly the unit will not defrost and icing will occur along with poor refrigeration. If the timer is fine check the defrost thermostat that turns the unit back on when a certain temp is reached. If it goes off prematurely to offset the timer duration that will also short cycle the defrost operation and cause issues you are experiencing.

My kitchenaid fridge does not

Is the condenser fan and evaporator fan working? Is there frost build up on inside back wall of freezer? Either fan nor working would affect the cooling capacity. If there is frost in freezer, you have one or more defrost components (timer, heater, thermostat) bad.
