the air from the freezer is what cools the fridge so no way to separate the cooling process for defrost

Check that foods in freezer are not blocking the vent which allows cold air to refrigerator. Newer refrigerators have only one cooling unit in the freezer. Cold air must be free to enter the refrigerator section.

It could be a bad seal or the door could be sprung without seeing it it is hard to tell. Check the hinges make sure door is properly attached. If it appears to be sprung try pulling on the top of door and pushing on bottom to spring it back into place.... Just not too hard.

Could be the wiring in the door hinge, make sure the harness is plugged in tightly. If it is then I would check the door switch. The door switch is faulty the features on the door will not operate.

I believe the vinyl option will work best for you because it will protect the surface and cover the existing rust.These guys have lots of options available from solid colors to designs from artists and even stainless steel.Hope this helps.

Sometimes the door hinge tabs can break and will cause the door to stay open. The door assembly will need to be replaced. Here is a link to the part.

The fact of the matter of the doors being at different heights is typically an indication the unit isn't level and can be simply corrected by way of screwing the legs/wheels up or down.

If you remove the grill below the doors you should see the wheels and the adjustment screws/bolts. #2 is the wheel, # 3 & 5 are the adjustment screws to raise or lower the unit.

i.e.



They are typically a 5/16" or 3/8" hex head/slotted combination. Try adjusting one or the other with small adjustments until you notice the two doors starting to level to each other.

Your start relay may be bad. Check and replace.

hi,
probably an ice dam. unplug it and put everything in another fridge.
take all the shelves and icemaker parts out of the freezer and in the back usually is an access cover that runs the length of the freezer depending on the model, try and and take that off. put a hairdryer in the door and check it every 10 minutes. if you cant get the cover off put the dryer in the freezer on LOW ONLY and bring the door shut so theres a few inches for air circulation. and check it every10-15 minutes, keep the hair dryer away from plastic parts, so its shooting straight towards the back. it may take a day without removing the cover but that might get you going. dont use sharp objects to remove that ice blockage, let if fall away. if its still acting up after a couple days of this call the repairman.
