Sanipro machine ... we cannot
Wouldn't trust John Carter's (Otley) - They did a no show on me today after I booked a day off so they could install a Saniflo. I waited all morning and early afternoon and when I got through to them all they could say was "Sorry, we no longer want to do the job". Unbelievable. Not a way to run a business.

Does the vent on the sanibest does it have to be a
The vent is there to keep from creating a vacuum from forming in the tank and if you don't have enough relief air and it may impeed the water from being pumped out at the proscribed rate. In most codes an 1 1/2" vent is the smallest vent size aloud. but that not to say it may not work ok with a smaller vent opening. If the manual calls for a minimum vent of 1 1/2" and you use a smaller one it may also void the warranty.
You need to remember that this not water that is simply flowing out and down the drain it is being pump out and the vent is more critical in the situation.

Taking a shower the pump
Yes it is suppose to fill tank nearly full then pump down and shut off. I would check to make sure that the float switch is not hanging up on something or perhaps rubbing on the tank wall that is stopping the pump from running long enough to empty tank.
Check the placement of pump and float to make sure they are not hitting on anything. Adjust float as needed to allow for max pump down. Also make sure that there is a check valve installed in discharge line so that any discharge can not run back into tank when pump shuts off. Hope this helps you. Thanks

I don't know for sure but I would not use bleach,at least not strong enough to do what you want. I would stick to salt and warm water. Thank you

I have a saniflow unit
The first thing I would do is make sure float is free of debris and not rubbing on tank sides On most floats there is some adjustment for tank level to actuate the pump. I also would inspect and clean check valve to make sure you don't have anything stopping check valve to completly close. Thank you

It sounds like a small rock, dime, or screw may
Sounds like you have a broke impeller or the bearings in the motor are bad. Clean it out real good and wash off the impeller and fill with fresh water and try it again allot of times the float will get stuck and the pump will over heat destroying the sealed bearings in the shaft between the pump and impeller this pump uses water to cool the bearings so if it has been dry running you will need to replace the pump.

My macerator pump is staying on
Depending on the model, the level pressure switch may be stuck in the on position. Or if it runs on a pressure chamber then the membrane could be warped, if warped then it will need to be replaced, a piece of solid may be stuck under the membrane keeping it in the on position or the micro switch may be stuck in the on position.

Check the vent connection for any obstructions of air flow. Air must flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times. Also, check the membrane inside the pump casing, it might be stuck in the on possition. The check valve on the discharge elbow may not be closing properly allowing waste water to drain back into the pump. If you need further assistance you can reach SFA tech support at 800-571-8191
