Where is the light bulb in an emerson mico wave
If
there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the
rear or side) and the owner's
manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.
You'll need to remove
the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.
Always unplug a
microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.
If
it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and
see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom
covering the light(s), instead.
If not, chances are
you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
Once it's out of the
wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll
need to do on a counter top model.
On a
counter top model,
be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions
above this paragraph.
You'll need to remove
the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.
Either way, see these links before
proceeding:
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/safety.txt
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/disassembly.txt
The
screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special
driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.
Be sure to put all the
screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding
screws.
Bulbs can be had locally in most
grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box
or department stores.
Many models use halogen
lamps. You must not touch halogen types with your bare skin, as the
oils
will shorten the bulb life.

Litchenaid KEMC377KSS05 says DOOR and microwave wont start
follow the next step and use the common sense: God bless youa stuck key or non-responsive key, most of the time you will have to
replace the keypad for this microwave oven repair. If your keypad is
connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting
it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After
cleaning, plug it back in and try it. If it doesn't fix it, replace
the keypad unit. Some units actually have keypad tests to confirm your
diagnosis of a bad key.If your keypad and control is the same
unit, replace that unit. Another note, unlike stove/oven keypads and
controls, most microwaves do not have error codes or tests to
distinguish whether it is truely the keypad or control. Most of the
time, it is the keypad that needs replacing, but a small percentage of
the time it can be the control. Check the tech sheet if they can point
you to the right part.

How do i remove the halogen light in my micowave
I have a similar Kitchen Aid model. The little light inside my unit also went out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a tech to come out to change it. He said the only way to get to it is to pull the unit out from the wall (it's a built in unit). $150.00 bucks later I had a light for about another year before it burned out too. Needless to say, the heck with it, I don't need the light that bad.

Replaced the touchpad and put it all back
First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertopunits, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where thecord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behindthe control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious ifblown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in theincoming voltage line to the control board. This thermostat looking fuse isusually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes youcan get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replaceif open.
Forturntable: First, make sure the turntable coupler under the glass dish is notbroken. Second, on the control board, find the turntable relay and test forvoltage. Some turntable motors are 24 volts DC, so make sure you're testing thecorrect voltage. If no voltage from the control board, then replace the controlboard. Otherwise head towards the turntable motor.
On OTR models, you can get to the motor by un-screwing thebottom panel on the microwave. On countertop models, there will either be aknockout or screw on access panel. Check for voltage at the motor. If novoltage, check the wiring back towards the control. If voltage, then replacethe turntable motor.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

Hello
& Welcome to FixYa
To
replace the light bulb first remove the screws located on the vent grill at the
top of the microwave, tilt the grill back and then pull away to remove. After
this open the light cover , you have to remove the screws so that you can
discard the old light bulb and then replace it with a new one. Please get back
to me if you have any other questions.

Light burned out in a
do you mean the light bulb. or the unit doesn't have power.
if you meam bulb, get replacement bulb & Use
gloves or paper towel to hold it as grease from fingers will shorten life.
The two prongs slide in to the ceramic holder. The entire microwave
comes out, then you take cover off and prop next sheet metal layer up
while you reach in and change it. It helps to have a STURDY work table
to put it on while you disassemble it. Takes an hour if everything goes
right.
and you meant power,
first thing to do is remove the grill across the top, remove the screw at
top of control panel, push up and remove ,, change the fuse just inside .

I have the KitchenAid microwave
I am sorry but this is usually the signs your touchpad is going out and the part alone retails for a lil over $300.00. You know your needs better than anyone but in my home we would just keep dealing with it untill it drove us crazy, or quit being usable. Basically the buttons you press are worn and making contact without being pressed.

How to replace light bulb
Hello, W/D here.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, the internet crashed, and I had to look at a few things, just to be sure.
It turns out that your oven lamp replacement is very close to an Advantium lamp replacement.
You have to remove the microwave from the wall cabinet, and remove the sheet metal surround. Then, you can access the bulb for replacement. The part # for the bulb is # 4375348 (whirlpool). These are available at Lowe's, H/Depot, or any appliance parts supply store.
I have an Advantium, and after two replacements, I cut a hole in the sheet metal, and fitted a metal "peep-hole" somewhat larger than I needed to get to the screws holding the bulb, and I screwed the cover plate down to the sheet metal. The result was that I wound up being able to slide the microwave out about 6" and change the bulb as opposed to having to remove the entire microwave from the cabinet holding it.
Hope that this is just what you needed.
Respectfully yours, --W/D--
Please feel free to rate this solution! Thanks.

Microwave makes a buzzing sound
The magnetron may have either failed or
is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run
it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!!
before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock
switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8
on high resistance range for short circuit, the feed fuse on the
primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the
magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

Light and door spring
I had a tension rod break in my door as well. There are two of them that cross forming an X and you can see them when you open the door and look in the crack. Fixing them is very easy once you get the outer panel w/ glass and the black molded plastic piece off. WARNING, when you open the door there are two screw on the inside top part of the door assembly. THEY ARE THE ONLY TWO SCREWS HOLDING THE ENTIRE FRONT PANEL/GLASS ASSEMBLY IN PLACE. I found this out the hard way. When the 2nd screw disengaged the whole assembly came crashing down shattering the glass and nearly cut off my toe. Be very careful when taking off the outside panel!!!
Next challenge...the black molded piece that also needs to come off. To remove this take off the piece that surrounds the exhaust tube to get at two screws that are directly underneath the molded plastic piece. After getting that off you have access to the two rod and can get them installed without to much trouble.
Again, be very careful when removing the front panel. My repair went from an 18 dollar tension rod to a $200 dollar front panel and nearly cost me a toe (yes, I was barefoot).
