How do I re-code my Raynor Garage door opener Model 61 rdg (on Remote) Serial # 17592 (on opener) Year 1992? I am a new resident in the house with this garage door opener. The remote control opener worked fine. In order to replace an electric light switch in the house he flipped the appropriate circuit breaker to "off." When finished, he put the circuit breaker back to the "on" position. The next time I tried to use my remote opener it wouldn't work and still doesn't work. Even though the circuit breakers are not marked well, there are no "garage" breakers. It seems a re-set is what's needed. I have no operation manual and the workman shrugged his shoulders. there is power to the garage; I open and close the door with the control mounted on the garage.
on the back of your garage door opener there is a colored learn button--press and release-the learn indicator light will glow for a short time usually 30 seconds. within thirty seconds press and hold the buton on the hand held remote that you wish to operate your garage door. release the button when the motor unit lights blink. if you don;t have a light, two clicks will be heard. it has learned the code. procedure will be different for multi function control.

I bought a house with a Liftmaster Professional Security+ (2000SDR), it came with two Clicker (CLT-1D) remotes. I recently programmed the Homelink on two cars to operate the door as well. Early this week one of the homelinks stopped working.
I reset the liftmaster and tried to program the clickers and now the liftmaster will not recognize them during the program process.
When I push the red programming button the programming light on the liftmaster comes on but does not blink and the garage light never comes on or blinks.
The Clicker still operate the second garage door fine, so I know they are working.
I have verified that the brand switches on the clickers are set correctly (off, on, on, off). The still do operate the other liftmaster.
Does the control boards on the liftmaster fail? Does anyone know of any other possible explanations and hopefully fixes?
Thank you for your help.
The Security+ system is a rolling code system and is digital, so it will work with the Homelink in vehicles and with the remote control units that come with the opener. Also with new remotes that are purchased specifically for that opener. Your "clickers" require specific instructions and you need to use the Smart Learn function in order to use them with this opener. In addition, check the Brand Switch settings to be sure they apply to your opener, and the correct Smart Button color on the opener. Read carefully to determine whether you need to set ANY dip switches at all or can you just set them all to off depending on your opener? Check the instructions carefully. Here's a link to the page where you can download a copy of the Clicker instructions if you don't already have it:

Keypad in garage works fine 100% of time. Remote openers in car work very intermitently. Sometimes we spend several min. trying to open the door from the outside while in car. Sometimes they work great from the end of the driveway. Sometimes they work great up close. We replaced the batteries in openers.
check to see if your ant. is up inside of the cover it's a little black wire that hangs outside of the operator shiould be about 6 inch.

how do you shorten the chain on a garage door opener chain
If chain is too long just take out links. You DO NOT have to go out and buy a chain breaker. If you have a Dremel or grinder, just grind off the top of the pin and punch it thru and you are all set.

I have a Liftmaster Professional 1/2 HP garage door opener. The garage door will not close unless I hold the button the whole way down. Both of the eyes have lights on.
make sure the eyes are clean and aligned if the opener thinks something is obstructing its path it will not close

I have a liftmaster garage door. I try to open the door with the garage door opener and the wall unit and the door only goes up about 8 inches and everything stops. I have disconnected the door and manually lifted the door without any problem. Although the door does not stay when it reaches the top. I have also checked all of the sensors and nothing is blocking the "line of sight."
It sounds like the opener is stopping because the weight of the door is tripping the lift sensor on the opener. There are two screws on the side of the opener to adjust the lift and close pressure. Find the lift pressure screw and ajust it higher to see if that remedies the problem.
Also, because you said the door will not stay open at the top when you open it manually, I think your springs are not adjusted correctly. They should hold the door open in the up position when not connected to the door opener. That may be the reason the opener lift pressure is kicking it out.
If you have to adjust the springs, be careful that you know what you are doing. There is a lot of potential for getting hurt if you don't know the proper proceedure.
Good luck.

Sensor problem with garage door opener. One of them has a yellow light the other a green. The door starts to close than stops. You can close it if you hold the button down inside and the remothe doesn't work at all. It blink 10 times which I found on another website means it is a sensor issue
If it moves 6-8 inches and then stops it is most likely the rpm sensor.
Yellow and green are what the lights should be.
Does the led on the wall control blink?? If is does press the lock button.
If it doesn't you will need to reprogram the remote.
Watch the eyes as the door closes, does one of them go off? If so the track may be flexing causing misalignment. (Widen the track near the bottom)
If all of the above don't help check the sensitivity adjustment. Turn it about 1/8 turn clockwise and try the door again - continue this until the door goes full cycle without reversing. If you have to set the sensitivity past 3/4 the door needs to be adjusted.

Garage door won't close unless I hold down the wall button until it is fully closed. Checked the L.E.D light at motor and it flashes 2 times in about 8 seconds. Sensor with amber light is on, other does not light.
WHEN HOLDING IT DOWN MAKES THE DOOR CLOSE PROPERLY THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES. CHECK FOR A LOOSE OR BROKEN WIRE. ARE THE EYES WIRED CORRECTLY? ARE THEY AIMED AT EACH HOLDING DOWN THE WALL BUTTON OVERRIDES THE SAFETY EYES.

Liftmaster 8550 get error code 14. Why do I get this message and how to resolve this?
error code 14: is telling you that your sensors (6" off the floor) both sides of garage door are misaligned. check sensors, make sure the lights are on, move them around and tighten them down
