Steaming water as in hot steaming or temperature differential steaming?

Sounds like the contact inside the float is stuck. It can be corroded and not letting the circuit open and that will keep the pump running.
If it had been fine but just started doing this, that is what I'd check. If someone could have accidentally wired it incorrectly when they were trying to fix it, perhaps they accidentally bypassed the float switch and have it "running hot" all the time.

Hello, the pump motor is controlled by the float switch. If your motor is running constantly even when you move the float switch around, then I would say that either the switch is shorted internally, or the wires going to the switch are shorted, thusly causing the motor to run. Is the float on a separate adapter to the pump, or is it wired into the pump?

Before considering disabling the high water alarm, consider adjusting float that sets it off. The alarm is there for a reason, if you disable it you may never know when you are overflowing.

This seems like a switch problem resulting in dry cycling. Can you turn on/off the pump by lifting the float switch? Is your switch attached or plugged in to your pump? I believe your on your model it is hard-wired. If so, bring it back to the retailer/wholesaler from whom you bought it.

If the float was stuck in the on position of the pump and the motor was out then yes it will still draw power. What is happening is that the pump is trying to turn the pump even though the pump is bad it is still drawing a current to the pump.

Maybe your check valve is letting water go back down the well.

Troubleshooting steps pg 13 in manual list several things.
Check air valve for leaks.

The manual says: "Your new pump has a 30/50 PSI
switch, so adjust the tank pre-charge pressure to 28 PSI.:
But the manual does not say or show how to adjust pre-charge pressure.
The 30/50PSI means the pump turns on when pressure falls to 30, and then runs until pressure rises to to 50. So the switch is preset and not adjustable.

I would make sure that the pump is setting securely in the pit so that it can not move and hang the float up on anything.If you have a lot of trash or debris in the pit then unplug your pump and remove and clean regularly I have used bricks or wire to hold the pump in place to keep the float free.
One of the best pumps that I've sold for over 25 years is a little giant. They have a 1/3 H.P. model with the float secured on a rod hooked to the pump casing so it can only move up or down. Hope this helps. Thank you.

If the pump doesn't have an intergrated non return or check valve, then one has to fitted on the outlet side in the line to prevent back-flow of water, it sounds like there may also be something blocking the impeller?
Also check the polarity is spinning the pump in the right direction

It has a cantilever snap action. Either the spring has detached, broken, disabled or unit is otherwise damaged. Heat, water, rodent, etc damage. Replacing the unit is most likely your only option.
