Hi Mike, it's Jack at Dyson.
Our cordless vacuums including DC44 Animal now include a fixed battery which is not designed to be removable in everyday use. As DC44 offers a runtime of up to 20 minutes of high, constant suction, we've found Dyson owners don't usually need an additional battery to complete cleaning tasks.
The battery is removable if it ever needs to be replaced, but we would advise against attempting to swap the batteries in normal use as the machine isn't designed to be used in this way.
For further advice I'd encourage you to contact our Support team directly - you can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Here is how i fixed my Dyson dc44 not charging, it turned out to be easy, but i went through checking everything else on the way to find a simple fault and fix
If the power cells are operational and it will not start; then either the motor is dysfunctional or something is jammed in the intake module. A conduction test with instrumentation can indicate if the motor is the problem, the power cells are not fully charged, or you have a short circuit. Check Fuses.
If you have a DC voltmeter and can see the contacts in the charger, you may be able to see it the charger has a output. But with the newer electronics for battery charging, the battery may need to be in the charger to get a reading. My guess is you do have a bad charger.
Hi Philip, it's Jack at Dyson.
If you've recently replaced the battery and ensured it's fully charged, and you're still noticing a flashing indicator light, there may be a fault with the main body assembly.
We'd like to take some further details to confirm if this is the case. If a replacement part is required, we can also check whether this is covered under your vacuum's 2-year warranty.
You can reach our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). Please have your machine to hand when you call so we can run you though some quick diagnostic checks.
Hi Juliet,
I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty with your brush bar. We recommend taking an opportunity to remove your brush bar and ensure it is free from any debris that might obstruct it. It is also helpful to inspect your cleaner head for any damage. Next, we recommend removing your wand from the main body and attaching your cleaner head directly to the main body of your machine to determine if your brush bar spins.
If your brush bar spins when the cleaner head is attached to the main body your wand may need to be replaced. If it does not the issue may be with the cleaner head. We recommend calling our Helpline with your findings so we can provide assistance with next steps.

two faults, mainly battery.
A flashing blue light indicates that there is no power, please charge the battery. A flashing amber light indicates that there is no power or a temporary fault (e.g. too hot/cold). A flashing red light indicates that there is a fault, please call the Dyson Helpline.
If your Dyson Airwrap hair styler is turning off at certain heat settings and the red light is blinking, it could indicate a potential issue with the device. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the Airwrap is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected to the device.
2. Reset the device: Unplug the Airwrap from the power source and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and try turning it on again. This reset may resolve any temporary issues.
3. Clean the filter: The Airwrap has a filter located near the base of the handle. Check if the filter is clogged with dust or debris. If so, gently clean it with a soft brush or by rinsing it under running water. Allow it to dry completely before reinserting it into the device.
4. Check for overheating: The red blinking light on the Airwrap can also indicate that the device has overheated. If this is the case, it may have an automatic shut-off feature to protect against damage. Allow the Airwrap to cool down for a while before using it again. Make sure the vents on the device are clear and not blocked by hair or other obstructions.
5. Contact Dyson support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's recommended to contact Dyson customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting advice or arrange for repairs if necessary.
Remember to refer to the user manual or Dyson's official support channels for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your specific model of the Dyson Airwrap hair styler.
Where did you order the 'Genuine Part' from. It sounds like a Genuine copy made in China like the brush that was sent to me. Genuine parts only come from Dyson direct. Mine came from Amazon.
