The Senseo has started to produce only half cups of coffee - using the same pads, and nothing appears wrong with the machine.

Try to clean the very small filter you have in the center of the pad holder.

My Senseo coffee machine is making a grinding noise, Is this a sign my machine is dieing?

There are no moving parts except for the pump. There might be some contamination in the pump (lime?). As this is a low cost machine, replacing the pump is not worth the cost.

Not enough water coming out of senseo coffee maker

You may need to descale your machine. It is always worth noting that if you put a mug under the machine, it will only half fill it on the one cup setting.

Why is the water is not boiling?

It may be that the heater element has burned out. Is it not not hot enough or just cold. Elements get coated from lime deposits, especially from well water. There are products to clean it. But if its cold, Its time for the trash. I miss mine. Im using a Hamilton Beach cheap unit but its not STEAM

Senseo will not turn on or heat water

No need to see what is in the manual. But what I type here, you also have to read. The manual gives pictures. I'm not. Remove the transparent back of the machine and fill it with water. a few centimetres under the top, you fine the line for max fill. Then replace the transparent back on the machine. Then plug in the power cord and press the power on button. (once is enough) a light comes on and flashes, when the mains plug has power. Then wait till the light stops flashing. In the mean time put a coffee pad in the top and close the top all as described in the manual. Place one or two cups under the nozzles and press the button with the one or two cups. (two cups gives twice as much water, so place two cups. That is all.

Why wont lid on my phillips senseo hd7863 close when the pod is in the holder ?

Maybe you inserted the pod with the wrong side up or you used a 2-cup pod in a single cup holder. If the clamping spring isn't working (the lid feels loose when you try to close it), that spring (that is nothing more than a straight piece of metal wire) needs to be replaced.

THE RED BUTTON FLASHES RAPIDLY

I guess it's the metal part in the water tank that makes contact with the machine when the water runs out. When you take the water tank off the Senseo it's in the bottom right corner. If you can't repair it, a spare water tank isn't that expensive.

After filling water tank and replacing on Senso coffee maker the indicator window still shows "water needed" and will not heat water or brew?

I think the problem might be with the sensor in the water tank, you might need to replace it or send it to be replaced.

Why lid wont close when pod is in holder ?

Did you place the lid in correct? Is it the lid that came with the machine? You should have two, one for one pad, and one for two pads. Make sure you only put in one at the time. You can fine the manual online, but the most important pictures are here too e2d40f99-b185-43c6-bffd-a3c704f68e25.png 46d3fbf1-376c-4a86-b2fa-039cfe1e2356.png

Need a descaler

instractions are from manual HD7810/00 Use the correct descaling agent Only citric acid-based descalers are suitable for descaling the SENSEO machine. This type of descaler descales the machine without damaging it. For the correct amount, see under 'Descaling procedure' below. Each descaling mixture can be used only once. After use, the descaling mixture is no longer active. We advise you to use the special SENSEO Descaler (HD7012/HD7011/HD7006). Read the instructions on the package of the descaling agent. Never use a descaling agent based on mineral acids such as sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulphamic acid and acetic acid (e.g. vinegar). These descaling agents may damage your SENSEO coffee machine. Descaling procedure 1 Mix 50 grams of citric acid with 1 litre of water in a measuring jug. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved. 2 Fill the water reservoir up to the MAX indication with the descaler mixture. Then put the water reservoir back into the coffee machine. (Fig. 3) Note: Not all SENSEO machine types have a water reservoir with a capacity of 1 litre. If you have a SENSEO machine with a smaller water reservoir, repeat steps 2 to 6 with the remainder of the mixture without filling the water reservoir up to the MAX indication. 3 Press on/off button 3. (Fig. 10) The machine is ready for use when the indicator light lights up continuously. 4 Place the 1-cup holder h with a used coffee pod in it in the coffee machine. Close the lid and make sure it is properly locked. Note: Always put a used coffee pod in the pod holder when you descale the machine. This pod serves as a 'filter' to prevent the sieve or hole in the pod holder from getting clogged with scale residue. 5 Put a bowl with a capacity of at least 1500ml under the spout to collect the descaling mixture (Fig. 8). 6 Press the 2-cup button hhand let the machine operate. Repeat this until the water reservoir is empty. (Fig. 25) Never interrupt the descaling process! 7 Repeat steps 1 to 6. Replace the used pod with another used pod to filter out the scale residue. Note: To descale properly, you have to use 2 litres of descaling mixture. Never descale the SENSEO coffee machine with the lid open. Make sure the lid is properly locked. 8 Rinse the water reservoir with tap water. Fill the water reservoir up to the MAX indication with tap water and repeat steps 3 to 6. Note: Do not refill the water reservoir with used hot water or the used descaling mixture. 9 Fill the water reservoir with fresh tap water up to the MAX indication again and repeat steps 3 to 6 once more. Note: Always rinse the machine by letting it empty two full water reservoirs. 10 Remove the used pad and clean the pod holder after descaling to prevent the sieve or hole in the centre from getting clogged.

Water leaks when machine is operated

Most of the time this is caused by one of the tubes - for water transport through the machine - that has come off. It is also possible that the waterpump itself is leaking. You should bring it in at your retailer to have it repaired.
