even simpler way to prove the hot/warm water does not freeze quicker than cold water. It goes like this:
Lets
say the two waters in question are 95 degrees and 55 degrees. The 55
degree water will freeze faster because the hotter water will get to 55
degrees on it's way down to freezing; thus adding on the time to reduce
the first 40 degrees before being at the exact same temperature as the
opponent water.
Case closed.
Also in regards to the dissolved minerals post...most minerals actually
lose solubility in water as the temperature goes up, this is why hot
water heaters and boilers in coffee makers get filled with calcium
deposits. So hot water can have less minerals than cold. This is why
I got an R/O system for my house when I lived in an area that had very
hard water....when I brought water up to a boil on the stove, it would
get a horribly ugly crust on top from the minerals coming out of
solution.
