Water

You would have to unscrew the back (needs a special tool) and leave it open to dry..then probably have it cleaned. Only a professional watch mender can do this. BUT Rolex watches are water resistant. It either isnt as Rolex, or you went too deep

Hi iv had my rolex watch for 2years now , not worn

This watch is self winding and will stop after 2-3 days if not worn.

To wind it up,shake it from side to side gently for a few minutes (about 100-200 times) and this should wind it up sufficient to make it run for some time.

These watches thrive on being used and if you wish to maintain its operation, wear it at least every other day.

I have a presidental perpetual

It sounds like your Rolex isnt retaining its power. If worn for 8 hours a Rolex in good condition will hold power for 36 hours.
Rolex watches need regular servicing every 4-5 years so it may be due a service, the mainspring may be broken or the automatic windind may have a fault.
You need an expert Rolex watchmaker to advise you try www.rolexrepairs.co.uk they offer a free estimate and repairs are returned in 2-3 weeks depending on the work.

WILL RUN A SHORT TIME THEN STOP

mcdevito75 here, I would imagine your Rolex is an automatic, not all Rolexes are. After 2 days not running at all your Rolex needs a very good start not just putting it on and that"s it. Sorry to say!, I would ask you to do this, With your watch close to your ear I would like you to wind the watch, listen closely, if you haer a clicking or a drag sound you know you have to give about 20 winds to your watch before you put it on, after the 20 winds the automatic takes over. If the stem just spins and no sound, Click or drag, then your rolex is fully automatic, after you put it on you"ll have to ttwist your wrist back and forth to get the automatic moveing to wind your watch somewhat. Twist your wrist back and forth maybe 20--30 times, this way your watch has an initial wind and as you wear it the winding continues with the motion of your wrist, after it"s wound pretty good if it stops and goes, have the watch serviced.

It just wont wind

Wind it back and forth at least 15 times, then twist the watch very quickly back and forth a few times. That should restart the balance wheel moving. Twisting motion must be around the axis on which watch hands are fitted.

My rolex jz stopped moving.

AS I'm sure you know, when changing the time (presumably by pulling out the winder), the watch stops.

Normally the watch re-starts when the winder is returned to the "in" position.

Check that the winder is fully home.

If it doesn't start, pull the winder out and in again. If necessary try this several times.

If this does not solve the problem, then a visit to Rolex may be necessary!

Hi - took it off for 36 hrs -

This is a mechanical auto-wind watch. It self winds when worn. But if taken off for a couple of days it will have stopped and won't start running again unless it is wound.

Put it on and wear it for a few minutes. This will wind it enough to start it running again. Then set the time and wear it and you'll be fine.

Hope this helps.

I need an owner's manual for a Rolex Oyster

There isn;t any downloadable manuals for Rolex watches, but operation of Rolex Day-Date is very simple:
1) when you unscrew the crown, it is in winding position,
2) when you pull out the crown to the first click, it is in day and date setting position (depending wich way you turn the crown).
NOTE: to adjust the day or date, previously you have to advance hands forward, passing 12 o'clock (midnight) mark and stop advancing at 4.00 a.m. using the crown in position as described in chapter 3. When done - push the crown fully in, then pull out to the first click and only then adjust the day or date.
3) when you pull the crown further out to the second click, it is in time setting position.
To find the daytime or night time on the watch: pull out crown to the second click and advance watch hands forward till you pass the 12 mark on dial. If the date changes as you pass it - it is the night time (midnight). If the date do not change as you pass it - it is the daytime (noon).
After all settings being done, allways screw the crown back down as it protects the watch from water and moisture.
Never use watch in sauna- it's not designed for that.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Unable to Open Rolex Band [knockoff]

Hello

I bought one while on a buisness trip to China. I like the watch alot but the band was too big. I have a friend who's a jeweler. He fixed the band for free. It does take a special tool (which he had).

I have a replica Rolex Oyster perpetual cosmogram

There are 2 scenario's here the first being the most likely:

If your dead set on not taking it to a jewelery store then. You can attempt to remove the back off yourself, you must however be very careful not to damage yourself or the watch in the process. The backs are normaly pressed on in these replica watches and the battery is located in the back of the case. You need to get somthing flat to lever the back off like a bread knife somthing sharper may work better to get in the groove but it also increases the danger factor. Once you pry the back off you should'nt have any problems removing the battery, just be careful with the battery holder they are delicate. When you replace the battery just press the back back on.

The other scenario is that it is a clone of the perpetual movement these clones aparently exist, although I have never seen one. If it's a clone of the real movement then if you shake the watch it moves a pendulum inside and winds the unit up, these watches don't need winding hence the word perpetual. Hope this is the solution you were after.
