Lock slow to lock

Change the batteries. If it still isn't working correctly, give Kwikset Customer Service a call: 1-800-327-LOCK (5625)The lock has a lifetime warranty against mechanical failure but only a one year warranty against problems with the electronics; try to convince them it's a mechanical problem. These Kwikset/Weiserlock Powerbolts have a high number of failures, according to the large percentage of problems listed on this sight.Consider another brand such as Schlage if you choose to replace it.

To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps: Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip. Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute. If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1). If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish).Navigate to the complete page that I cut this from can be found by cutting and pasting this link into your browser search bar:http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspxThen go to: US & International/FAQ Categories/Keyless Entry/Powerbolt 1000/Search Results/ How do I troubleshoot my Powerbolt 1000?I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem, first of all to confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense. Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

Wont lock when you push lock button

You did not mention whether yours is a new installation or a problem which has developed over time. Assuming it is a new installation, you need to remove the cover for the lock to access the jumper which sets the lock to operate as a left-hinged or right hinged door and move it to the other position. This is explained more fully in the installation instructions' page 6, which can be found here:

http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/BDHHI/40486-02

If you cannot view the file, you need to first install Adobe reader. You can get the free download from here:
