Check the BIOS. Some motherboards allow you to regulate the CPU speed. Just look under Power or Advanced settings.

You can buy an add-on Firewire (IEEE 1394) card in one of the two PCI expansion slots. That would add the firewire port on the back of the computer.

The M863G V3.0 motherboard doesn't support SATA drives directly, so you'll need an adapter between the SATA drive and the IDE connection on the motherboard. Some of these adapters are a little bulky, so make sure you have enough room. Also, you'll need a spare power connection for the adapter. Good luck!

Is that one of the PCChips boards that has a jumper to enable/disable writing to the BIOS (Basic Input Output System? If it has a hard drive in it, disconnect or remove the hard drive, and then reset the BIOS, by removing the BIOS battery for 5 minutes, then put the (good?) battery back in, and boot it up without any hard drive. I have seen such behavior before, due to malware such as TDL4, and also "BadBios!" Those malware systems can OVERWRITE any unprotected BIOS with modified code!
