I would not put the money into a new motherboard, it would be expensive and in my view better to replace with new laptop especially when you consider the 1 year warranty that is provided ready to go.

Sounds like the keyboard is in NUM LOCK mode

They keys map like this:

7 8 9 = 7 8 9
u i o = 4 5 6
j k l = 1 2 3
0 . = m .

Look for the NUM LOCK key on your keyboard.

Typically, you press the FN key (lower left corner) and the NUM LOCK key (typically towards the upper right) together to put the keyboard back into regular mode.

Your laptop may be getting too hot, or it is not able to cope with the applications that are being run on it. It may need to be upgraded, you might want to concider performing a fresh install of your operating system Windows XP/Windows 7, remember to backup your information. Get your laptop serviced, the technician will remove the dust from the inside of your laptop, this will allow greater air flow through your laptop thus reducing the tempreatures giving you a laptop that will perform at it's optium level.

There is a ribbon inside ontop of your screen that may have come loose, the only solution is to have someone qualified to fix that...but, if you think that you can do it yourself, you can try that. the screen opens by removing the 5 screws in front of the screen.

Does your screen improve when you move your screen or shake it a little?

Tricky for the novice. You have to remove all screws underneath, prise apart case without breaking the loocking plastic clips and then hunt for the battery which may just slide out or be screwed down. It may have helped us if you said what the laptop was

take out any cd/dvds and usb sticks you may have inserted and try again

Bad HDD, remove and test. Replace if necessary.

Get a laptop cooling pad to cool the laptop. If it wont turn on its probably overheated just wait and it will turn on.

Usually you can acces BIOS by pressing
"DEL" Key duing system startup.

But it also depend on the BIOS manufacturer and version on how to access BIOS

I've had a look on the net and it'snot looking that promising.

It is because there is problem with error in harddisk.
For that delete all partition and then create again partition if there is not need to take backup of data.
Try this 4 to 5 times then it works.
Then you can install vista easily.
Also boot computer with vista disk and then enter in recovery console mode then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
then press "y"
then it fix error on harddiks .
Then check.

Did you try to download all of the updates that are available? You might need to go to the company web site and see if there is a BIOS Flash for your notebook. Vista has a lot of problems that Microsoft can't even explain.
