The remote start has has a status option for it to know when the car has started and for it to keep it running. Most techs do it the lazy way and just set the option to voltage sense. You have to have a tech hook up the tach wire to the remote start and then program it for tach sense.

Viper 150HF in a 95

Honestly I would just remove the viper system or have it removed by a sound/alarm specialist. Shouldn't cost much to have it removed.
Thanks,

I don't know which remote starter you have, but I have a Viper 5101. To fix this problem, I started the ignition, then turned it off, leaving the key in the ignition. I pushed the Valet button (it has a blinking blue light, mine is near my rear view mirror) and held it. Then, I pushed it 3 times, then held it down a 4th time. Then, I pressed the lock button once. I pushed the Valet button again to take it out of programming mode, and it worked! I got this sequence of steps from the installation manual online: http://www.scribd.com/doc/45065156/Installation-Viper-5101 Hope that helps!

Well, that depends on which type of key you have. Is it a smart key, a 40 bit encryption key or an 80 bit encryption key? The DBALL or the FLCAN will work on the smart key. The DBALL, PKALL, FLTB1 and FLCAN will work on the 40 bit key. A word of advice: if your vehicle has the 80 bit key, use your valet key and a universal key box to bypass the immobilizer for the remote starter. Finding the the IMI/IMO wires in this vehicle can be tricky and time consuming.
You can tell the differnce in the keys by looking at the metal stem. If a dot is present, it's a 40 bit. If a G is present , it's an 80 bit.

If the installation shop has check the system and it's not on the timed start mode or, 0 temp start mode then the only other issue that could cause this is the negative activation wire (white with blue) is making contact with ground.

I f you are trying to remote start the vehicle, what you will need to do is use a new relay that is rated for 40 amps. The problem you are having is that most remote start relays in alarms are only rated for 20 amp and the vehicle you are talking about uses close to 30 amps to start. Good Luck.

Your alarm may have lost the tach signal, that was learned to it, when it was originally installed. That would cause the remote start to try starting the vehicle over and over again, until it finally stays running, because it can't read the engine speed to know it's running.
If you can find the valet push button switch in your vehicle, try this; Start your car with the key and immediately after it starts, press and hold that valet push button switch until the alarm led on the dash stays lit up or the park lights flash. Then, release the valet switch, shut the car off and try remote starting it. That is the procedure to re-learn the tach signal. Hope it works for you.

Hi there i have viper

The remote start is suppose to try 3 times to start and after the third time if it hasnt started then it won't try again until you press the buttons. This sounds like you may be having a problem with the transponder interface that allows the car to stay running after it has been started. You can look on the dashboard and there is a red light that comes on when your igniton is first turned on then shuts off. If that light is flashing when you are trying to remote start it,then the transponder interface is the problem.
