You probably have a screw down crown. Turn the crown counterclockwise and unscrew the crown. Now you should be able to pull it out. When tightening it back down, don't over tighten, just snug. This is to keep moisture out of your watch. Always have it screwed down unless you are setting the watch.

why not just take to a watch/jewellery store and get battery changed

Tags once were often on the fake market but this watch should be real. A watch repair shop can open the case and tell you quickly. Its about a $1500 watch new.

You have selected a wonderful watch... Heuer and TAG/Heuer should be gently wound by the motion of the human wrist and the falling of a centrally pivoting weight (there is no ideal direction). AUTO-WIND function is NOT at all unique to your watch... After a couple of CHEAPER "winders" failed me... and after I figured about 4 watches was more than enough to keep wound... I found the greatest BASIC watch winder... to run year over year (efficiently and quietly) MTE watch winder (their very basic WTS-4). Unscrew the crown, it should pop out , then pull out and adjust as normal..

Really need more info on what model watch you have but in most cases pull the cown all the way out to adjust time

You have to unscrew the crown once it is unscrewed can you pull it out once for the day and twice for your time. Be sure to screw the crown back in when you're finished or else you'll get moisture inside.

If it's 5 years or older it's time for an overhaul. Make sure that they are going to replace the mainspring when doing the overhaul. So many repair shops do not do this simple task. It requires them to tear the watch down all of the way. gabe

Whatever will turn the screw without stripping it. Also be careful with those little screws if you drop it on carpet it will take a miracle to find it.
