Flip cam won't connect to computer

I think this time your battery went flat. Not sure you can replace the battery yourself, but only with enough power, the camera will act as a external memory, so you can see and download the pictures.

Cannot remove the batter for a recharge

Let me guess? This is the first time you want to remove the batteries, because you can't charge them anymore. And last time you used the camera was months ago? This looks not good at all. Great chance the batteries in the camera were exhausted and did leak. Or the batteries are exhausted and are swelling, without leaking but are pressing against the battery door. In both cases you have to try to open the battery door and remove the batteries. Sometimes it helps when you press against the door, release it and press again. Little tapping could help also, but be aware cameras are made with delicate electronics and lenses. I hope the batteries did not leak, but is the did, try to remove everything from the battery what is in the battery compartment. Then clean the compartment very well. Special the contact points. But don't use sharp tools or grinding paper, because the contacts will oxidise in a short time again. Just dry cloth, or if you have contact out, little oil and after you cleaned everything rub it dry with a kitchen paper and a dry cloth. Success. Buy good NiMH batteries, to replace the ones you remove. Charge the batteries in an external charger and remove the batteries if you don't ue the camera.

I accidentally erased my daughters's wedding!!! can it be retrieved?

Possibly. Important: Take no more video with the Flip until you've recovered the videos! This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" wedding videos. There are many good freeware photo/video recovery software options that may help you recover your videos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones. Try for the ones that are listed in the article as being capable of recovering videos. If these don't work for you (but really they should if you just simply erased the videos), you might want to try some of the payware versions (with free preview features), or consider professional video recovery services.

Do you use memory cards with your camera? If so, the videos should be saved on the memory card. Just remove the card and download it to your pc or view it in another camera.

If you do not use memory cards, then remove the battery from the camera, put it in a bag of dry rice. close the top of the bag and leave the camera in that bag for about a week to dry it out all the way. Once it has dried out, it should work fine. But do not try and turn it on and off ect while part is still wet or you may loose your videos stored on it and/or damage the camera.

The flip mino hd usb won't plug into most of my

My flip mino hd USB also will not plug into my MacBook Pro.  I've tried it on 3 different machines and it will only fit into one port, and not at all easy into that port.  When I look at the USB connector on the device, there appears to be slight raised plastic ridged on the outside ends of the connector.

My brand new Flip Mino won't turn on. Tried it

Chances are that the battery doesn't have enough charge. I would suggest charging it overnight to see if that helps. Sometimes products off the shelf have been sitting awhile, and the battery is just not charged at all. Also, with rechargeable batteries, they have to be recycled, that is, recharged about 4 times before they charge up to their maximum potential. If charging the battery good doesn't help, I would just get my money back, if you can. Good luck hope this helps.

Flip Mino HD Screen Frozen

I had the same problem when it was brand new straight out of the box. Below is Pure Digital's (manufacturer of the Mino HD) response. This did solved my problem.

"Please ensure that you are gently touching the operational buttons on the camcorder rather than pressing them. Pressing too hard, or too rapidly in succession while waiting for a response, can desensitize the touch pad, requiring a reset of the camcorder.

If you find that the Mino has already frozen, we suggest resetting the camcorder.

To reset, simply take a pin and insert it into the reset hole within the camera’s tripod mount, wait five seconds before powering on, and then power on without touching any of the buttons on the back of the camcorder for an additional five seconds.

Please note that resetting the camcorder in this manner will not affect the videos resident on the camcorder; it will simply reset the screen and button sensitivity on the Mino.

Thank you,
Flip Video Support"

I hope this helps.

BTW my Mino HD has frozen twice now (I've had it for 2 hours total so far!) and the reset trick has fixed it both times. It seems to me the buttons are too sensitive or the computer program not the most stable. I hope this is the last of the problems!
