Sony has software that is a drag and drop content transfer and should convert files to make them compatible but I haven't had much success with it.

You can use any number of programs to convert cd's to mp3. Sony's Content Transfer is mainly just to transfer files from the computer to the player, drag and drop style. first convert the music into mp3 form, connect your mp3 player to the computer, right click on the music and take send to or you can copy the music from the computer and paste into the mp3

You shoul make sure video is compatible with iPod.
if not, just get a video converter.

when the file is converted, you can drag it to itunes Library-remove the file to Playlist.

I always download video from youtuve, then use Wondershare Video Converter Platinum which could convert avchd, m2ts and other common video to the format fit for your sony walkman.

Or better yet, go to ebay, look for wireless fm transmitter. They are cheap. I got mine brand new for $1 plus shipping. Now I can hook the transmitter up to my mp3 player and play the sound through any fuzzy radio station and you can listen anywhere. Or get the head phone -to-rca jack plugin from amazon.com

I would suggest that you go online and look up drivers for you mp3 player that are compatible with your operating system, and install them before you try connecting it again.

Go to Control panel -> system -> Device Manager -> look for a yellow mark (question mark) next to some device there. Delete the device, then go to the small computer icon at the top of the tree, right click it and chose "scan for changes", when it tries to install a new device chose "Portable device" and click OK. See if that will fix it.

well, your file must be broken when conversion. why not try another tool to help u deal with this problem. I always try Pavtube Video Converter to help me convert any video files to mp4, and the the output mp4 file can be surely played. u can try
