I am not sure if the key is stuck or if it is somehow turned on permanently. How can I check? And how could I disable the key so as not to use Fn at all. this might solve the problem.
Thanks Rosie
use
Fn + NmLk

I just got my eee pc 1000H yesterday, however, the internet is incredibly slow... it works, but you could make a coffee inbetween loading each page! Other computers in the house are much faster on the internet.... please tell me its fixable!
Im a bit of a technofobe so I haven't tried anything to fix it myself yet
Well, based on my PC fix experiences, there are a number of reaons might be responsible for the performance issues, some are dangerous while others not that serious.
You may learn why and how to speed it up easily from: http://www.whyismypcsoslow.net/
Hope this helps, good luck to you & your Eee computer!

Asus 1000.
The touchpad is no longer responding to tapping, and the left click key
is not responding. The right key and the cursor are still operating OK.
USB mouse also works.

Hi there,
I had this issue and resolved it by doing the following:
-Open the start menu by using the windows button
-Use the arrow keys to highlight run and press enter
-Type 'control panel' and press enter, find the mouse properties and enter
-From the buttons tab in mouse properties, go to double click speed and change to slow and confirm the changes
-At this point it probably still wont work, so do the above again but change the double click settings to fast and confirm.
-Restart your PC and this should resolve the matter. you can alter the double click speed again if you wish :)
Hope this helps,
tbo

reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key
When you reboot, go to BIOS, restore factory BIOS settings. If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall your OS.

my mouse "elantech smart-pad" wont work while i type on my keyboard. I have to wait about 3 sec after typing till the mouse starts working.. i have the latest updates.. what to do guys?
The elantech settings have a box you can check to disable the pad while typing. Uncheck the box if it is checked.

I just loaded a full version of windows xp home edition sp2 on my 2gb flashdrive. with the Pe to Usb formatter...Everything went well until i tried to load the operating system on my lenovo x61. I keep getting File\$win_nt$.bt\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded. The error code is 14. could someone please shed some light on this... The only suggestion i've had so far is that my boot.ini might be pointing to the wrong directory.

Follow the above link. I had the same problem and this simple method works as it will create all the .inf files for you.
Hope this helps

but I fixed it just now..
what you have to do is press and hold the Fn key,
then while holding the Fn key, press Num LK or Number Lock key,
That should fix it.

<Shift+3> key produces pound sign as in currency . But Where is the Hash"#" key then located on the laptop or how do I write # for codes??
You have it set to UK keyboard layout. Goto control panel / region and language and change it to your desired country. Cheers from Scott please dont forget to vote
