Work recovery system, it wants to access recovery options, but i cant remember password

reboot laptop and keep tapping the f8 key while its booting. you will get an options screen, select ''boot into safe mode''. it should then boot up in safe mode, once on desktop go to start menu>>all programmes>>and look for the acer recovery tools...ity will be their as all acers have these tools. in the recovery tool, you will have the following options. factory restore computer = thios will erase all your files from the hard drive and reinstall windows again, once done it will be the same as when you first bought it and took it out of the box. or..restore windows files and settings only = this restores the windows files system so as to fix the errors that are causing problems, none of your personal files will be erased or lost and will still be on the computer once the operation completes. i would go with the first option and do a factory reset. If you have personal files you want to keep, then when booted up into safe mode yhou can copy those files to a usb thumb drive or a CD or whatever. Once you have your files saved, perform the factory restore instalation. Or you could just boot into safe mode, and if you get onto desktop, goto start menu>>all programmes>>>accesories>>system tools>> back up and recovery. From their, select ''system restore''...it will show a list of restore points with dates next to them. Their will also be a box unticked that says ''show more restore points''. tick that box so all restore dates and points are showing. Then select a restore point and date about 5 to 7 days before the problem occured. so if the problem happend on say the 7th november.....restore it back top around the 30th october. this will just undo any system changes that are causing errors and get your pc working again without affecting any of your personal files. if all the above fail, you will have to reinstall windows yourself, just download the iso from microsoft website download the 'windows 7 usb tool' from microsoft website. insert a USB thumbdrive at least 4GB in size. run the windows usb tool and follow the on screen instructions which will then load the windows downloaded file onto your usb drive. once done, reboot pc and hit f12 (or whatever key it is for your model to enter the boot options menu - a quick search on google will tell you the key for boot menu if f12 or esc key do not work). once in boot options menu..select your usb device to boot from and press enter. windows will then install on your laptop. once on desktop, goto start menu and eright click on ''computer''. select 'properties' then select 'device manager....and cxheck to see what drivers may be missing. once you see what drivers are missing...goto acer support.cm (you may have to use another computer to do this if your ethernet or wi fi driver is missing and you cant access the internet. once on acer website, selecter the drivers and manuals tab......it will then ask you to input your computer model number, brand, operating system.....then it will give you a list of all the drivers for your machine...now download the ones you need, then install them by opening the file and double clicking the ''set up .exe' file. once all drivers are in reboot nachine and then wait for wqindows update to kick in and apply the neccesary updates.

Please help me reset my bios password on acer

First you need to remove the laptop battery at the back side. Find some screw there and remove it locate the CMOS battery and jamper.

The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

On some motherboards, the battery is soldered to the motherboard, making it difficult to remove. If this is the case, you have another alternative. Somewhere on the motherboard you should find a jumper that will clear the BIOS password. If you have the motherboard documentation, you will know where that jumper is.

If not, the jumper may be labeled on the motherboard. If you are not fortunate enough for either of these to be the case, you may be able to guess which jumper is the correct jumper. This jumper is usually standing alone near the battery. If you cannot locate this jumper, you might short both of the points where the battery connects to the motherboard.

    Factory settings

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop. Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files. Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue. Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings. Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window. If you have any other issue with your Acer laptop/desktop/Notebook, feel free to get expert technical assistance at http://www.vtechsquad.com/acer-support/

Possibly a router issue. It shows the connection but it must be completed through the manufacture website.
