Where do the batteries go in the 90-0100-27?

The backhead of the boiler in the cab opens and batteries are inserted into the boiler. There also should be an adapter cable to enable your to use an R/Ccar type sub-C rechargeable battery pack. It is only 7.2 v. so it will run a little slower.

MY R/C TRANSMITTER # 90-0100-A27

Hi Jiggs,

Double check the batteries with a tester. I've gotten them drained off the shelf. They do have expiration dates.

Make sure the battery connects and springs are clean and shiny, free of corrosion.

Next, make sure they are put back in the right direction. I know, but it happens. Check anyway.

Make sure both units are powered on.

That's the easy stuff.

Next step requires making sure the leads to the antennas are tight and free of corrosion.

If the set is new, Do not open anything as this will void the warranty. Bring it back for exchange.

Best regards

Mike

Don't have instruction manual for

hi, im trying to locate the owners manual for you and will post it here as soon as i find one but you need to leave me a response so that i can post another message to you and hopefully the link to the owners manual.
Now as for the battery's the batteries are located in the enginge (locomotive). They take 6 D sized batteries. At the very back there is a panel that you need to slide off to get to the battery compartment. Somtimes it may take a little manipulation to get the panel open. As for directions, Iam in the same boat with that problem. Hope this helps

that should at least give you a good idea of where the battery's go if you have any troubles post me message back then i can assist you further ok

It won't run.

Check the battery contacts, they may be corroded. If that does'nt work, if you fell confident enough, open the locomotive and check for loose or dissconnected wiring. Also, make sure your transmitter is the same frequency as the tranE. Hope this helps!

Transmitter power lite is on but no power seen at engine-

There are two switches at the rear of the engine. One turns the sound on and off and the other turns the power to the engine on and off. Make sure you have the power switch turned on. It should default to full forward with the transmitter off.

I bought bachmann spectrum 2-10-2

sounds like it's too lightweight! try running with a big blob of plasticine on top, to see of it runs right. if it then works ok you need to fill the internal spaces with lead (ask your local tyre shop for the weights they take off wheels when changing tyres)

Broken idler/reduction gear in ho power truck

Hi Jerry- Split gears, unfortunately, often occur with plastic gears especially the older an engine gets it seems. They get brittle and crack. I've provided a link to the Bachmann website-they offer a catalogue of parts and may have the replacement gear you require. You can also call them toll-free (the number is on the site) and provide the nice person with the model of your engine. A little known fact is that Bachmann used to provide a lifetime guarantee on their locomotives. If the part you require is no longer made, they sometimes offer a replacement engine (new) at a substantial discount. You will have to mail in your old one. I used this service one time and received a brand new engine for about 60% off the cost of it new. A good deal! My only other suggestion is to check in your area for local model train shows. You can search for them online. Most of the vendors are hobbyists themselves that sell model trains and supplies to make a few dollars on the weekend. Their trains are usually used but sell for a fraction of the price new. Sometimes you can purchase a beat up engine for its parts for a couple dollars, and sometimes they have parts that have been taken off used engines themselves. Bring your engine along with you and see what you can find. I find bringing an old engine back from the dead always very rewarding! Hope this helps! Happy modeling! Bachmann Trains Online Home
