throttle cable is not broke may be your throttle assembly has moved round a bit and has snagged the throttle cable you sometimes also have a throttle cable adjuster somewhere along the cable the outer

the throttle cable travel then compares the two signals calculates the preset number that is sent to computer module. The switch is anchored by two screws the adjustment there determine correct signal
